Re: stanley
he was beaten... I didn't think he was disgraced.
needs to learn to not watch his man so much and go for the ball

Re: stanley
give the kid a break.
You see why Watters went so hard for a stopper in Brown.
Was well beaten tonight, but all FB's cop it occasionally.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Re: stanley
Stanley is not the answer at full back this year or any other. A total liability down back. He is a forward/ruckman or nothing at all.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: stanley
Hang on, I thought he was Dustin Fletcher?!
And
Why is he better for the experience.... Dont understand that throw away line??
Perhaps SW might be better for the experience when he realises Stanley is not a key defender.... Never will be...

Re: stanley
He doesn't have the nouse of a backman. Defends on the wrong side of opponent and often allows opponent to access the 'dangerous space' his positioning doesn't demand support from fisher and Roberton who can chop off line ball while he can run and jump in the space. Will hopefully learn a lot from video reply. Would suggest a bloke like Max Hudgton could isolate 5 video snippets and teach him a bucket load.

Hudghton woyuld have had five kicked on him tonight. No chop out, at the end.
Was always going to happen.

Re: stanley
Yep, but get a player who did it (Bob Murray might be a bit old but so what) like Matthew Scarlett and not someone who didn't like Max.Jaz wrote:KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL..
Re: stanley
Cloke snagged a couple from simple positioning errors, needs to adapt to a position where clokes space is limited because often Mcevoy, Roberton etc. would work back but Stanley wouldn't put himself on the opposing side of play. Lack of experience, understanding and direction to others. Not a lack of effortjoffaboy wrote:iceman wrote: Would suggest a bloke like Max Hudgton could isolate 5 video snippets and teach him a bucket load.

Re: stanley
Yep
No point blaming stanley - Cloke is the best contested mark in the comp at 26 at the top of his game and on a million bucks a year.
Cloke monsters everyone.
Lets persist with rhys down back and get him to 50 games.

You're right. Roberton or someone else was the answer, 5cm shorter and 20kg lighterGreg T wrote:For mine he clearly is not a defender .....and Watters leaving him there was plain bad coaching .
Re: stanley
i take exception to this, yes i want to persist with him down back but he must learn that the ball is the number 1 priority. He on too many times tonight was fixated on Cloke and was drawn in to a battle with him when he had the opportunity to take a leep at the ball.Con Gorozidis wrote:Yep

You cant mollycoddle players, he was beaten; yet he didn't have to be, stanley has the ability and attributes to beat cloke but he needs to learn these.
This is no player bashing or any agenda, I like Stanley but I have realised he is a year or two away from being the player I think he can be.

You're right Iceman...there was no one else. Fisher was not the answer as has been suggested elsewhere.iceman wrote:You're right.
