Re: Siposs - full forward
Can he take a contested mark? He sure as hell isn't going to burn anyone on the lead...
With our delivery aka Kick is long to a pack, our full forwards need to at least be big enough to crash a pack..

Re: Siposs - full forward
Didn't he play there in juniors? Pretty different game in AFL, not so much space to lead into.bakes wrote:Isolate him deep in the forward 50. Would be a real threat.
Re: Siposs - full forward
He should play forward flank, as a medium sized tall.
We have the defense covered imo, we are lacking forwards, surely 2 talls, 2 mids, 2 smalls would be ideal

Re: Siposs - full forward
Yeh I just feel that we are lacking a tall forward that can be competitive and kick a score.
Kosi is over the hill.
Roo is playing as a ruck rover.
Maister is injured.
Lee doesn't have the muscle or the score on the board.
Small forwards are all out of form.
Hence why I think Siposs should be played primarily deep in attack tomorrow to see what he can do.
He can't do much worse than anyone else.

Re: Siposs - full forward
Not sure about that, we need his field kicking of back line/centre and it would be wasted at ff
I love this club

Re: Siposs - full forward
Agree. it sounds a bit of an unusual positioning to me. Wing/Half forward seems a more natural spot for Sippo, with his great foot skills hopefully delivering accurately into the forward line "for a change."
Re: Siposs - full forward
Big fan of the idea...
This floating defender thing doesn't sit well with me and Sips development and his future... It's too much of a Jack Watts, lack of accountability role which under utilizes his potential...
Stick him forward, anywhere from within 60m, have a ping...

Re: Siposs - full forward
Not sure why he can't play as an attacking wingman.....
If he pushes behind the ball, his use on the way out would benefit the team
If he got the ball in transition his kicking i50 would benefit the team...
If he got the ball forward of the centre, he would be a scoring option from 45-55
If he got deep, he could provide a marking target pushing deep and have deadly conversion....
It's the role he plays at Sandy, and he role he played in his 2nd or 3rd game where he was lethal in the first quarter... Maybe against Hawthorn

The above post is about the best option for Sipposs - wing
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Agree.PJ wrote:The above post is about the best option for Sipposs - wing
He needs to play a similar role to Roo. Ie. everywhere from wing to FF. need to utilise his long kicking to get F50 entries to that gun Kosi.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Re: Siposs - full forward
What I'd like to see no matter where he plays is some hardness and aggressive attack on the ball. Be a first to the ball type and win some of your own ball. The sweeping half back role looks nice and flashy but no use hanging out the back of packs when the ball is in dispute. Go Sippo. We need you to improve.
Re: Siposs - full forward
That's the positioning he has been asked to perform.... BJ was also instructed to get behind the contest line and create time and space to set up from behind the pill....
It's a specific role of a QB sweeper....
A hit up fwd has a role, as has a HHF, A running back, an inside, link, run with, lock down, key back, plus one, small fwd, deep fwd, 3rd tall..... The roles a pretty common, yet specific.
The structure and balance of the team wrt it's game style/plan is more important than the personnel...

Re: Siposs - full forward
Why waste his penetrating kick at full forward?
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
Re: Siposs - full forward
That's why I wanted him to play at the biscuit tin, one kick from full back to full forwardBernard Shakey wrote:Why waste his penetrating kick at full forward?

Bickie tins are smaller than cake tins, I believe. It was a little bigger than you suggest.SainterK wrote:That's why I wanted him to play at the biscuit tin, one kick from full back to full forwardBernard Shakey wrote:Why waste his penetrating kick at full forward?

Anyone can kick goals from full forward. Why waste his penetrating kicks?skeptic wrote:so he can kick goals

Re: Siposs - full forward
Lockett was the best kick I've seen.. Obviously for goal, but his field kicking was equally genius.. Don't think that particular skill was wasted with him a FF..

Plugger is an asthmatic and basically couldn't play further up the ground.Sobraz wrote:Lockett was the best kick I've seen.. Obviously for goal, but his field kicking was equally genius.. Don't think that particular skill was wasted with him a FF..

Re: Siposs - full forward
Lockett running around in the midfield???
Utilising his athleticism yeah, seriously.... He was stuffed after a half at FF.
He was a deadly accurate kick.... Yes. In particular at goal....
Winmar was a great kick..... To Lockett....
Arryn, like Nicky is not a KPP!
