…you know at night, when everything is quiet? All you can hear is crickets… a bit like when someone is reeling off a list of all of the Key forwards that Kosi has been better than this year…

Can you name the ones he had more impact on? Should be plenty if it is most.
Good question. Go ahead Curly. Let it rip. Which key forwards did he have more impact than in his 7 disposal, 4 mark, 2 hit-out, 1 goal only game of the year?
You mean at St Kilda or elsewhere?
It's a rotten year for forwards, could name plenty who had shockers on the weekend.
Those of you old enough to remember another #23 called Loewe might recall his awesome presence in the forward line, even as he got older.
Kosi had something similar, not the same, but that was a long time ago when he was healthier.
He may work as hard as anyone there on the track and in the gym, who knows, but on the field it just ain't happening.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
Remember one of the 10 Commandments : Thou shalt have no other team before thee

Everywhere. Curly's saying that Kosi is playing better football than a lot of other forwards in the competition, in spite of having played only one game where he did his not infrequent trick of doing something to get everyone's attention and then disappearing. And are you saying that because other forwards in other teams aren't performing, it's a reason to keep the one we've got? The excuses that get dragged up for Kosi are very creative.

The thing for me is not to get into a petty points scoring exercise about naming which particular forwards aren't performing compared to Kosi. The point is about not accepting mediocrity and making excuses for it.
In my view Kosi has been mediocre or less for a long time now. Others see that he has value in having a 'presence', providing a marking target or demanding a tall defender to man him up. I don't reckon his 'presence' is anything to get excited about. In fact more often than not in recent years he has pretty much disappeared as a dangerous presence, apart from occasionally bobbing up to take a mark or kick a goal, which then causes people to continue to support his selection. It's not enough though.
He's not much chop in the ruck, totally inconsistent except for being consistently average or less, he's as slow as buggery, his contested marking is nowhere near what it was and defenders run off him at will when the ball turns over.
I can only go by what I see on games over cyberspace and commentary of other fans and experts. But that's how I see it and for mine we'd be much better off drawing a line through him as a viable first team selection.
And gifting him games to get to 200......pfffft....more medriocrity.

Without trying.
Casbolt didnt play so not a great start. Bradley got injured. Even worse start. Mitch Clark is injured. Not looking good. Cordy didnt play. Dont think Tarrant played either. Hansen didnt play. Without even looking up the stats.

They have all played games this year and kept there spot for less input than Kosi on Thursday.
Kosi isn't what he was but there is still an argument that he does improve the structure. He draws a player out better than maister because of his size. Tall focal points help give the player coming in an option besides Rooey- you can see the tall blokes easier.
I would only replace him with Hickey or White as they offer the presence with some more hope for the future. Kosi gets my respect though and has been a good loyal club man with some great games for us. Would still like him to get 200 games if we could get him in a few times more.

You can see the tall blokes better!!!!! That's the best argument I've heard for keeping Kosi in the team. That you can see him better because he's taller. Pick him every week.
Size is good but output is better.
I do see your point about structure, but in Kosi's case being a big tall solid unit isn't enough when you're not offering a lot else.

Having played footy at not a great level and being more of a basketballer I always went for the tall guys because you can see them and back them to at least get hands on the ball if not the mark- when you are running at pace and there is a forward cluster they all blend otherwise. Maister doesn't offer that as he's a lot smaller. That's why I said Hickey or White could offer the same. Maister is more a third tall type with good defensive pressure than a key forward.

Now that is a lie. Casbolt was dropped and so was Cordy. Pretty sure all the others are going better than Kosi.

Yes they were dropped and thats the point. Cordy has much better figures than Kosi ans was still dropped. Casbolt has slightly worse figures and was dropped. I actually have no idea what you are doing except making us think Kosi should also be dropped.

Cordy had far worse numbers and less impact than Kosi in far better conditions. All of that list on average this year have.

Its hard to discuss things when you lie. It seems that only Casbolt has worse numbers than Kosi this year and he is playing in the seconds. You obviously need to spend more time getting some other names.

Yes you are lying. Cordy has had 2 more possessions a game and the same number of goals and 4 more hitouts a game. if you think otherwise post it or you are lying. As for impact how the hell do you judge that? Kosi had bugger impact on Thursday. Not sure about Cordy.
