Those of you old enough to remember another #23 called Loewe might recall his awesome presence in the forward line, even as he got older.
Kosi had something similar, not the same, but that was a long time ago when he was healthier.
He may work as hard as anyone there on the track and in the gym, who knows, but on the field it just ain't happening.

The thing for me is not to get into a petty points scoring exercise about naming which particular forwards aren't performing compared to Kosi. The point is about not accepting mediocrity and making excuses for it.
In my view Kosi has been mediocre or less for a long time now. Others see that he has value in having a 'presence', providing a marking target or demanding a tall defender to man him up. I don't reckon his 'presence' is anything to get excited about. In fact more often than not in recent years he has pretty much disappeared as a dangerous presence, apart from occasionally bobbing up to take a mark or kick a goal, which then causes people to continue to support his selection. It's not enough though.
He's not much chop in the ruck, totally inconsistent except for being consistently average or less, he's as slow as buggery, his contested marking is nowhere near what it was and defenders run off him at will when the ball turns over.
I can only go by what I see on games over cyberspace and commentary of other fans and experts. But that's how I see it and for mine we'd be much better off drawing a line through him as a viable first team selection.
And gifting him games to get to 200......pfffft....more medriocrity.

Kosi isn't what he was but there is still an argument that he does improve the structure. He draws a player out better than maister because of his size. Tall focal points help give the player coming in an option besides Rooey- you can see the tall blokes easier.

I would only replace him with Hickey or White as they offer the presence with some more hope for the future. Kosi gets my respect though and has been a good loyal club man with some great games for us. Would still like him to get 200 games if we could get him in a few times more.

Having played footy at not a great level and being more of a basketballer I always went for the tall guys because you can see them and back them to at least get hands on the ball if not the mark- when you are running at pace and there is a forward cluster they all blend otherwise. Maister doesn't offer that as he's a lot smaller. That's why I said Hickey or White could offer the same. Maister is more a third tall type with good defensive pressure than a key forward.

Now that is a lie. Casbolt was dropped and so was Cordy. Pretty sure all the others are going better than Kosi.
