Both players proved to be a big hit, particularly G-Train. Whether or not they both played to their full potential is up for debate. I would say G-Train did. They definitely both contributed to getting the club some much needed onfield success.
Answer: Well the key reason was the " mercenary scumbag coach". That Blight was to be coach was a powerful reason in them and other coming. In turn Waldron and Co lured Blight in addition to the $million with the promise of good players.
Hamill was mightily pissed off when Blight was sacked.
However there were other reasons. Elliot and Hamill had a huge fall out. At their B&F if I recall correctly. The Blues could have signed Hamill early in the year for less money, but chose to wait. We then offered more money, and this combined with Elliot's big mouth and the lure of Blight got him to us.
GTrain had the come home to Vic factor plus more money.
So for us to get a good player or two:
Look for the come home factor, or the disgruntled player.

Why not offer some money for them. They all came for our stars- give some of the pain of list management back.

Spot on. A happy player will never leave. But if you look around you can sometimes find an unhappy gun. That should be our aim, saintsRrising wrote:

Anyone know how Dayle Garlett is going in Wafl? Could be a way of getting some a grade talent (albeit wayward)
He had 30 touches and 2 goals this week
Not sure what he had after game though

We also got Wright (or White) and Saunders with the Lee deal, but dont let the facts cloud a good story bro.Con Gorozidis wrote:We are also good at spending high picks on other teams low picks (Lee and Lovett).

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

I was just having a laff on that bit. Looks like that was a good move by us.

Come on, this is St Kilda. We won't snag a big fish!
But guaranteed we will use high draft picks selecting (or trading for) decidedly average players with very normal sounding names. Expect guys like Tim Roberts, John Black and Peter Murray to be clogging our list next year!
