Would the Saints game not rate?? Are we irrelevant already?!
Not paying good $ for the ability to watch about 10 or so games?? I wouldn't watch it for anything else.... I don't care one bit about other games....
And there's plenty of Free TV Available.
It just seems like the same s*** getting played on loop.... Not worth it IMO

Yes it would rate but not as much as the other game and by a fair way. You wouldnt watch other games but have seen Sam Dwyer plenty of times. Didnt know Port was your VFL team. You must be tight with money if you cant even waste $12 a week. And that isnt having a go at people who struggle for a quid. I can guess you dont. Looks like someone else wears the pants.
It seems when you talk about players from other AFL clubs we should disregard your opinion as the most you see them is twice a year but more likely only once.

there are dozens of good shows on foxtell......plenty of footy shows...good movies.....capacity to record free to air shows...and all the footy matches live.......well worth the cost of a schooner or a packet of fags a week........BigMart wrote:Would the Saints game not rate?? as for classing foxtel as entertainment - its a bit of stretch - or says a lot if you like UFC and endless regurgitations of angry housewives of every capital city in the US of A.

I wouldn't take it as that much of a compliment, seeing under the current arrangement Foxtel are obligated to cover any game that Channel 7 doesn'tEastern wrote:Fox got shafted by Ch7 in the 1st deal. Fox fought for (and got) a much better deal this time. Lets take it as a compliment that Fox wanted to do our ANZAC Day game !!
For what it's worth, I agree with everyone who thinks it is disgraceful that this is not on free to air. But I get it. It's the free market at work... St Kilda vs Sydney is not really a potential ratings beast and Channel 7 would have to pre-empt their primetime lineup for it. The masses don't care that it's being played in NZ. It's not a smart programming decision for Channel 7 to air it. As someone else mentioned, maybe a smarter thing to do would have been to air it before the Essendon vs Collingwood game.

Agree Batteye re the game being a lead up to the MCG tossfest.
It should start at 1.10pm NZ time which is 11.10am Melbourne time, finishing approximately at 1.50pm.
That leaves 50 minutes between games. Plenty of time for pre game Anzac Day coverage.
Our game could then be shown live on the MCG scoreboard.
