Can anyone tell me if Jay Lever is playing in defence or is he still being used in the ruck. Big wraps on him as A CHB as a junior. How much has he progressed since last year ?

Used as a bit of both..ruck and defence...still needs time...played mainly reserves last year...has played seniors this year but he's struggling a bit...skinny as a rake and gets brushed aside fairly easily...if he can get a few kilos on then he'll be a better player imo

Up until last week I thought Staley was very lucky to be in the Sandy seniors...showed very little...but against a very good team in Port Melbourne he had his best game at Sandy...played for a while on Dean Galea who is as good a contested mark as anyone going around...on one occasion he got a great spoiling punch that Galea would have otherwise marked...

Now he needs to follow that performance up this week against Werribee...after his game last week his confidence should be a lot higher..sometimes I think draftees think that coming from the TAC or other leagues that they'll get an easy kick in the VFL...even in the VFL reserves, it's still hard to get a kick

Maybe later in year if he keeps improving. Wasnt his best game last week but still managed to get fair bit of it. Does use it well when he gets it.

Just watched the replay.
Sheesh Im impressed with Hickey. A lot of people underselling him I reckon. Did some great things. Not necessarily stats but some nice plays that set up his team mates. Impressed with Ferg and Webster is a lovely kick. Im seeing some positives.
And Siposs needs to pack up his ego and put it away. Its affecting his game.

Its funny that anyone could watch a game of footy and see that a player has an ego. I struggle to see who is playing on who especially in the midfield because they basically all play on each other because of rotations.

Whats up with the great White hope?

VFL report

Round 5 of the Peter Jackson VFL has been completed with Williamstown and Sandringham winning the Sunday matches:

SANDRINGHAM d NORTHERN BLUES: Sandringham has staged a miraculous second half comeback, to turn a 38 point third quarter deficit - at the 20 minute mark - into a 13-point victory against the Northern Blues. Whilst the Zebras recorded their second win in a row, and a spot in the eight, the Blues suffered back to back losses, after opening the season with two wins.

Marcus Marigliani was pushed forward in the second half and it produced results, with the captain kicking two goals, along with great input from Tom Curren (22 disposals), Hamish Shepheard (22) and Farren Ray (26) Tom Ledger (31). The Blues were unable to stop a seven goal run by Sandringham that started with Trent Dennis Lane in the third term, and was completed by a Jay Lever goal 12 minutes into the final term, giving the Zebras a six point lead. The final term then went goal for goal, with the Blues only regaining the lead by a point at the 19 minute mark, before the Zebras steadied for the win. Chris Michaelides was named best for Sandringham, along with Sam Dunnell, Adam Cockie and Shepheard. For Northern Blues, Levi Casboult (four goals) and Luke Mitchell (3) were the main avenues to goal, whilst leading disposals went to Tom Bell (26 disposals), Kane Lambert (25), Andrew Collins (24), Marc Watson (23), Aaron Joseph (22) and Frazer Dale (18).
