With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
I really hope Watters doesn't do the conservative route and bring in Kosi for Maister. We need to start giving our young forwards game time. We gain nothing from playing Kosi. We must bring in Lee or White, or Hickey. I would even like to see Lee and White in the team. We need to start making some gambles.

I'm with you though I think we're out of luck, pretty sure Kosi will come in.
It doesn't sound like White is ready & just played a full game yesterday...
Hickey & Lee would be a good start.
I don't really buy the 'Kosi crashing packs' gameplan, sounds terrible, kicking high to huge packs of players and hoping for a scrappy goal. Would much rather we develop a smarter method of inside 50 delivery. How about timed leads by multiple dangerous forwards, learn to find someone in there instead?

Agreed. No value in playing Kosi. Slow as treacle and will be finished at the end of this year. Time for new blood.
Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
I agree on Kosi but I think he will play. Lee has to be certain so it is out of Kosi and Hickey and with Hickey playing yesterday then Kosi will probably be picked. Dont like it and dont see the point. We cant win anyway so give the young guys that deserve a game a go. Wouldnt play White yet though. A bit early and your first game off a 4 day break isnt on IMO.
Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
Play Kosi and he can go the bash. Likely being his last season we've got to get him to 200 games.

Kosi
Without a shadow of doubt
Seen White Play..... A mile away
Lee in also

I agree with the thread. Having said that I'd love to see Kosi get 200 games. He'd be there already if he hadn't missed with so many injuries.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

Kosi should play and go out with a bang, not a whimper, play him in the backline and just smash packs and a few heads in the process- the AFL would love that on international TV..we might as well make it a game to remember.

Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
Just listened to Watters post game conference. McEvoy sounds like he was stretched against the Bombers and didn't make a few contests while he was back helping out the defenders. Reckon he needs help against the Swans. Hickey may not be right to go, so Kosi to play forward and do the rucking down there as well. Who else? Blake to do rucking?
Not ideal, but we'll have to make do.

Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
The thing is you can't just go "lets bring in the youth" without balance. Kosi isn't the future but structurally he could be important for us to develop youth around. Just putting young guys in to get game time can come at a cost.
So you want Lee and White against Richards and Grundy and if they get smashed are you going to write "Lee should never have been picked up, what a sh*thouse draft selection".
I'd suggest either Lee or White with Kosi. Kosi can also give support for Ben in the ruck without Stanley having to move.
Problem is at the moment with a transitioning list that if we are not winning most supporters want to throw the team out and start again.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Without Kosi we have a chance! With Kosi we go down by 10 goals!

Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
Well Lee is a dead certainty replacement for Maister.
Next issue is we will probably replace a small with a tall - so toss up between Hickey and Kosi.
Hickey has the disadvantage of 5 day break.
Kosi has disadvantage of being old, slow and knackered.
Toss up.

I would probably try Kosi and Lee- good combo in the forward line. Hickey isn't quite ready either and while I would love to see White first hand I doubt it will happen until at least half way through the season.

Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
Isn't it a small ground? Long quick kicks out of the center to FF should suit Kosi.
Better to have Kosi down there than to keep kicking high balls to Saad.
Also, less wide open spaces means less chasing.
If we play all the kids at once we'll just get smashed and it will harm their development. We need to play a mix.
Kosi should play (with Lee and Siposs or Murdoch, less Milne and Milera).

Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
A lot of clubs have made tough decisions in the past, where they don't select a favourite son/great clubman. Kosi would have massive luv for the club, but a match committee is obliged to pick "the best 22". Not negotiable.
Sad to see him not play but gotta be realistic.

Yep lets play Lee and White, let them do the bash and crash work that you would expect Kosi or Maister to do. Then watch as they completely screw their bodies up for all time and then blame the coaching staff.

Re: With Maister out, we need either Lee or White--not Kosi
White shouldn't play seniors at all in 2013 and maybe 3 or 4 games late in 2014. He's 18 and he hasn't got any kind of tank on him. You're right mad dog. Look what we did to Kosi at 18. Stuffed up his back and the rest is history.
