BJ is a class act!
Never my favourite player and not always able to give his best to the Saints.
I think he's grown up a lot in the past six months.

Re: Brendon Goddard you star
I do believe Lenny had a hand in us almost winning a grand final, as did the other 20 + players on the ground. Goddard didnt do it all himself. Its this attitude that made him think he was bigger than the club.BigMart wrote:No, just being honest.
I see him as a saints champion who reluctantly left, and is finding it hard to deal with....
He gave StK and his team mates everything except a premiership, which he single hand idly almost did.
I always admired Ball and BJ and wish they never left..... His reaction suggests it wasn't as easy for him as plenty of dickheads on here believe.
Answer this hypothetical honestly
I'll give you 500 000 to your family if you support another club for 4 years
Yes/no
Re: Brendon Goddard you star
I find it interesting that its the same apologists that can't accept BJ's raw emotion. They don't want to accept reality.
They want to believe he is a prick and it meant nothing to him by leaving... Hitting a nerve by clearly showing his hurt by the decision makes it harder to accept....
They try to convince themselves so badly that every decision is good and can't accept mistakes (must help them deal with disappointment) .....
BTW I don't necessarily believe we could afford BJ.... That doesn't mean it's a shame he's gone and believe his heart is very heavy....
I think, whilst I get wound up and negative.... At least I'm realistic and honest with myself when thinking about stk....

I believe it to be true, you believe what you like.Middo wrote:SainterK wrote:Honestly.
I don't think it would of come to him testing the FA market if Pelchen hadn't have flexed his muscles.
I've been consistent on this.
Even if you've no intention of giving the player what he wants, at least sit down and talk, ruffle his hair, tell him sweet nothings.
No, we went the whole 'no deal' which saw Goddard test the FA market, decided to play it out in the media rather than getting around a table.
The week prior to that, we still could of kept our man IMO without paying him what Dons have over 4 years. Frustrating
Like you would know FFS ...
Why not a 4th with terms?
If you're worried about the output in the fourth, put a clause on it.
Effectively the money becomes as good as the players output.
There is also that other question, why couldn't we have given him a bit more? Hardly going to be maxing out the cap are we....
Re: Brendon Goddard you star
So it wasn't BJ who pulled down one of the best marks in GF history to put us in front with 2 mins to go???
If mini didn't miss a tackle 30secs later BJ would be seen as Saint Hero Forever

They were both entitled to do that. But it was their choice.
Not poor Luke/poor Brendan. They were seduced by offers. In the end they made their choice, coincidentally made a s*** load of cash, have jobs for life.
Are there any other happy stories about opposition players that we'd like to share?
*Allegedly.

If milnes kick had of bounced through would that of made him the hero.
Seriously, the whole team lifted. Yep was a fantastic mark by Goddard. Lenny's goal was awesome. But no one "single handedly" got us in front, or back in that game.
Who then do you blame for us losing the week after.
Re: Brendon Goddard you star
It was just a question.... That grab was out of this world, w all know it... Just admit it?!
Next ill be hearing BJ was just OK?!
BTW which of Milne's kicks should have bounced through?!

Anyway I'm off to have a cry with my family just to prove I love them

Yes/no
It is one of the most puerile hypothetical questions I have ever encountered.
If you could truly change your allegience for money you should not consider yourself a true supporter - of any club.
Re: Brendon Goddard you star
Many would have hoped Brendon would have not given a F*** to paint him to be the villain you want.... But the reality is, it's just not the case...
Both Ball and BJ could have shoved their success clean up our arses.... But they are better characters than that... And that is what people are finding it hard to admit....
They literally bled for the club. When you do that, it's hard to forget or let go of..... Most here wouldn't know a damn thing about that
Btw mullet
Lenny kicked the ball fwd... Milney just allowed it to bounce, instead of attacking it.....

Re: Brendon Goddard you star
Could be?
But I am not wrong about believing the hurt it would of causing BJ not going to work with his best mates everyday... But that's life...
He would have lost more sleep than supporters who turned fairly quickly....

Re: Brendon Goddard you star
Cant see where I have called him a prick.
But apparantly, because he cried , he loves the club more than anyone on this forum, and none of us can understand.
All because he cried.
People are just pointing out there could be many reasons for him crying. But alas it is only Bigmart who truly understands the inner emotions of Brendon Goddard.
At least he has plenty of bucks to buy tissues

Those two moments were gigantic momentum changes... Goddard’s was massive at that point in the game.mullet wrote:BigMart wrote:So it wasn't BJ who pulled down one of the best marks in GF history to put us in front with 2 mins to go???

Re: Brendon Goddard you star
Please.
We've all followed AFL for some time. Is anyone seriously shocked that 10 years at the top of the ADL mountain, we are now going to struggle??
f*** me. That is precisely what is designed to happen, and is will (and is) happening.
Goddard or not. It's happening, and always would have happened.

Mullet, put yourself in Goddards shoes....
Oh, that's right.... You never could?
And yes, stk would mean more to Brendon than us, are you silly enough to believe othewise?! It's like saying ANZAC day means more to The Defence Force than Aussie Cicilians... Of course it does...
Have you ever gone into battle for the saints...
And you don't have to be Einstein to work out why he was emotional even Watters spelled it out FFS
So did hird
Are you really that ignorant??
