I know it is a saint topic board, but I don't feel sorry for the Dees. They have had more draft picks then I can remember from any team.
The mistake they made was getting rid of their leaders (McDonald,Bruce,Green,Robertson ect......).How can Watts,Trengrove,Grimes have time to learn when their idiotic board cull so much experience so quickly.
Neeld is a spastic and should stick to teaching????
C'mon Sainters...................

He plays loose as either a flanker or when he actually does play as a tagger, his opponent gets best on despite Grimes getting a bit of the ball
Re: Irrevelent(Melbourne)
Well, they are probably just treating the game as a training drill as every team that plays the Bummers should. Their good form is not really a true indication as all clubs know they will be awarded the points anyway once they are rubbed out for drug cheating.

I feel sorry for their fans… I remember watching us get belted like that as a kid… hope we don't have to suffer like that again.
Pretty poor though, asking Bailey to tank, then sacking him.

Melbourne = incompetence to the extreme...
How does a club go there.....

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Everyone talking about dees on not the other elephant in the room?
Dons could be top 4 this year, I can't rationalise that

Dees are putrid and I think Adelaide won't be as good as anticipated. I'd like to see them finish 9th.SainterK wrote:Everyone talking about dees on not the other elephant in the room?

At best they have a list like say the Crows of 2012 or the Dogs of 2009-2011. Yey we make the finals and play in a prelim but are we a realistic shot at winning the Grand Finals?
No. No chance in hell.

Re: Irrevelent(Melbourne)
Desperately sad night for Melbourne people.
I felt so sorry for their fans.
Especially losing to a bunch of cheats like Pissndung.
But their incompetence is unbelievable.
They dismissed their leaders.
Tanked to get prime draft picks.
Then picked rubbish.
Some of whom they couldn't even retain.
Their culture is now distorted by the tanking.
Half their members hide behind MCC membership and won't fully commit.
Their previous major sponsor turned out to be a racist fraud.
They are leaderless on the field.
and leaderless off the field.
I fear what will become of them.

Re: Irrevelent(Melbourne)
Why would a saint supporter feel sorry for any club accept our own. By comparison Melbourne are traveling quite well looking at them holistically compared to the Saints. We have one premiership, they have twelve (with 2 x three-peats). But we do have twice the amount of wooden spoons than them (including a four-peat & six-peat). And this season to date...two matches played for two losses. I really find it hard to throw stones and criticize other clubs sometimes when history shows that St Kilda have certainly been no world beaters.

You should be in your element- depressingly keen to talk about the inevitable slide and how long we will be down. You're not a motivational speaker are you. We might slide but we seem to be trying to rebuild while staying competitive. Barring injury we should be 8 to 13 imo at the end of the year but can't see us getting smashed every week with no competition offered.
Melbourne are the team under pressure after the first 2 weeks because they look worse than they have after years of top picks. They took Toumpas over Wines who is a mate of Viney? WTF is wrong with their decision making?

Yep! and also I wouldn't be getting too cocky about Melbourne's loss to the Dons, we play them in round 4.

Until all their points are taken away from them. Investigation is still ongoing , it is not going away.SainterK wrote:Everyone talking about dees on not the other elephant in the room?

Will not comment on Melbourne or their "culture" as I dont believe in "culture". Hate it when people kick us so wont kick them for struggling.
Will however kick a team that is embroiled in cheating. Interesting if it was Stkilda or Melbourne or Doggies with this Asada investigation, if it would have disappeared from
the papers so quickly. I think not. Look how they ran with lies from a 17 year old. Still waiting for an apology Gilbo????

Its a Saints forum so i dont get why we mention Melbourne firstly and I thought we were supposed to give our thoughts on the Saints.
people say I dont give my opinions but obviously you think I do. And yes my opinion is we will slide. Maybe we should only give our thoughts if we are going up the ladder. No Im not a motivational speaker. Are you a recruiter because I think you have no clocked up your 100th recruit that will be good for us. Pity you only get about 10 and sometimes you have to actually make decisions.
As for Tompas over Wines, its 2 weeks or should we say Hickey and Lee are wasted picks?

Re: Irrevelent(Melbourne)
Actually Toumpas was more highly fancied than WInes. I can see why Melbourne would have taken him. I just wish we had had the opportunity to get one of them. Just what the Saints need.
Re: Irrevelent(Melbourne)
Toumpas was just behind Whitfield in most recruiters eyes. The Saints wanted him and were close to making a deal with GWS to get an early pick to select him. I feel being selected by the Dees will starve his potential.

Re: Irrevelent(Melbourne)
I don't think either are bad picks- melbourne needs grunt and got another soft outside runner. Wines and Jack Viney were just what they needed.plugger66 wrote:gringo wrote:plugger66 wrote:I repeat I dont get it. i suppose that is what happens when you are on the way down. Maybe they made a wise decision not to have 2 players who pretty much play the same way. In the long run they will need outside runners.

Re: Irrevelent(Melbourne)
Before we get too cocky, if we play like we did against the Suns against the Dons we will be in for a pummeling too.
Tigers we were much better, but still short of the mark.
