Re: Big Macs Game
Was very imposing. Pity we couldn't use his dominance to greater effect. We scrambled it away from the centre clearances, but they were more clinical.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Big Macs Game
Hats off to McEvoy - lead from the front and tried tolift the team single handedly.
“Yeah….nah””
Re: Big Macs Game
Very good game. Thought his ruckwork really gave us a chance to dominate clearances. Number 7 probably didn't have his best game. Went alright in the last.

Re: Big Macs Game
I have been pretty tough on him and haven't seen what the hype was about but "Big boy Mc Evoy" went pretty well tonight especially in one quarter can't remember which he was in everything.

Re: Big Macs Game
Agreed tonight he looked like a ruckman ! If he could just learn some awareness below him when rucking he will continue to improve. Too many times he cleary wins the tap down but bats it straight to the opposition without even looking.evo wrote:I am not a fan but tonight his best game......ever!
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!
Re: Big Macs Game
I'm often tough on Mac but gotta give credit when its due. I thought along with Roo and Jones he was our best.

Re: Big Macs Game
I thought both McEvoy and Stanley were fantastic tonight. Roo was our best and then those two I thought. McEvoy towelled up a quality ruckman. Stanley's disposal and decision making are greatly improved. Looks like a quality footballer.
Re: Big Macs Game
Sticking with my top 5 in the B&F
Wish there was a market
I have Armitage and Geary to join Joey Dal.
However a full season without injury, Roo will probably win it again

Re: Big Macs Game
Super player.
Him and Hickey are going to be a handful down the track and I hope we stick with two dedicated rucks.
It may not pay off this year, but I sense we are looking more at the long term now.

If only he could tap it out to a St Kilda player would help.

I have been on him from that start and hope he is our next captain. He will be the 2nd best ruckman in the league in 2014.
Nick Nat then Big Mac!

Re: Big Macs Game
Our defence looked much better witg Stanley down back. Prior to that move the Tigers seemed to be marking just about everything that went inside 50.Cairnsman wrote:Yeah played well and who ever said Stanley played well was spot on. He looked good tonight. Hope that is a sign.
Re: Big Macs Game
He benefitted from shouldering most of the ruck
Hickey not being there was good for Ben... And it releases Rhys from back or fwd

I reckon he will benefit from sharing the load with Hickey.BigMart wrote:He benefitted from shouldering most of the ruck

Agree. Our structure looked ALOT better tonight.BigMart wrote:He benefitted from shouldering most of the ruck

Just goal kicking. You cant kick 80 points and expect to win..................but I liked the response the coaches made to last weeks ruck structure disatster...any chance Hickey was played because of the old team factor??? I just can't see why else it happened?

Re: Big Macs Game
Future Captain I reckon.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
