So then why name him as an emergency??Eastern wrote:Simkin has had an interupted pre-season and I don't think he played in any of the nab cup game. That would suggest that he is UNDER-DONE and would need to build his match conditioning with at least a couple of games at Sandy !!Saintmania wrote:Someone want to tell me why Simpkin is not an automatic inclusion? Club treat its supporters like Muppets when it comes to injuries. It's beginning to rile me.

Re: Team vs Richmond
thank god kosi not picked
would like to see simpkin in for roberton.
still grumpy with jones but we need someone to tag delidio and cotchin.
But based on last weeks game Montagna ans Gilbert will have them covered. Maybe Jones can play the sweeping roll off the half back line.

Yeah Blake second ruck will follow vickery around I'm guessing. Stanley is only going to get better back there looked really good last week.plugger66 wrote:Blake will be the second ruck. If Fisher doesnt play Simpkin comes in and either way Stanley has to play back. Why give him one week back and the next forward. He isnt a Yo Yo.
Re: Team vs Richmond
Alright selections, although Simpkin should play. I reckon Fisher might be a late withdrawal.
Siposs should play as a forward target, I reckon we've got enough defenders, not enough forward targets, or at least put him on the wing instead of Gilbert.
Maister better have a good game or might be pushed out by Lee or Kosi against GWS.

Or Blake will get the short bursts in the ruck and Stanley will stay down back.matrix wrote:so with blake dempster and fisher back there i wonder if rhys might get a few short bursts in the ruck???

Re: Team vs Richmond
well yeah
or vice versa seeing as they now both play down back
someone has to help Owl
blake has more experience down back
rhys has more experience in the ruck (from pre saints days)
i just thought it might be the natural thing to give rhys a crack at it
he will certainly jump over both of their rucks
cant wait til tonight

Re: Team vs Richmond
As someone before me has already said, there are players named in both the Saints team and the Sandy team this week.

Is this common? Or is it a major giveaway for what our late changes will be tonight?

Re: Team vs Richmond
Sandy have named all 4 Saints who were named on the bench, as well as the 3 emergencies, so I dont think we can look into it too much.FQF wrote:As someone before me has already said, there are players named in both the Saints team and the Sandy team this week.

given last weeks sandy results, I would think that it highlights our poor depth (quality)MC Gusto wrote: So then why name him as an emergency??

Re: Team vs Richmond
I think Stanley might go to Riewoldt - I wouldnt mind seeing them against each other as long as we can get a third man around him. Get Blake to go with Vickery, and use Fisher to exploit McGuane going the other way.
Did Dempster do a hammy 3 weeks ago?? Seems too long a rest for tightness, but not long enough for any tear, so I think he might be the one to miss out late??

Re: Team vs Richmond
Smpkin needs to come back into this side....better than Blake & Gilbert, and hits hard, is cool under pressure and has good skills....what's the problemo?
Nee!
