Very short casual session. Dempster training with the Reserves group, looked to be moving ok. Schneider was there but didn't see him train and no sign of Fisher.

Oh and Markworth was running laps. No strapping or other protection on his knee.

Schnides, Dal and Ray just walked around the oval and didn't train.

Seemed like another fizzer for the club !
they were probably hoping that a crowd of around 1000 would have turned up , instead due to there lack lustre preformance on saturday , there was probably 200 odd .
Most who played on saturday just walked around exchanging pleasantries , macca and cj ran a few laps .
demspter , joey and simpkin trained so i'd expect them to play on friday !
It was good to see markworth running , i wonder if he'll play for sandy before the end of the season .

Was very short and sharp. Seemed to split into two groups, those who played on Friday for Sandy and those who played on Sat night. Sandy players did some kicking for goal and another drill, while seniors did some stretching and then signed autographs and that was it, all up went for about half hour. Noted that Hickey and fisher werent out there, dal, scheinder and ray walked laps

Thanks for the feedback from those who attended training earlier today. It gives a lot of readers a look in.

Tom’s sad story was highlighted a week later when an article in the Sunday Herald Sun mentioned the tragic circumstances his family faced.

The accompanying photo of Tom in his beloved Saints jumper caught the eye of captain Nick Riewoldt and coach Scott Watters as well as several club officials.

It was decided by all that the club would do everything it could to help provide Tom some cheer in such a difficult time.

So this week Tom will lead the Saints out in the Friday night clash with Richmond after appearing as a special guest of the club at Monday’s open training session.

After he was introduced to the St Kilda players, Tom was hoisted on to their shoulders, giving him a much-needed broad smile as he got to know his new friends.

Losing your 14 year-old son in the middle of the night with no symptoms or signs of illness is hard to fathom.

Tragically, this was the exact situation faced by Joanne Kupsch a year ago, when she couldn’t wake up her son Bobby.

Unbeknownst to everyone, Bobby was suffering from a rare inherited heart-muscle disease called arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy.

Since then, his family has committed to raising awareness and funds for the Heart Foundation.

The family were invited to attend St Kilda’s open training session on Monday at Linen House Centre, and met Saints skipper Nick Riewoldt.

“The disease is very prevalent between elite athletes and anyone between the ages of 1-35,” Joanne told saints.com.au on Monday at the club’s open training session

Good to see the new' connections' being made saints...
