Why did we not TAG Ablett????

I am still finding it hard to believe that we let Gazza run free without tagging him. Jonesy always tags him out of the game but we chose to tag Baynell.
However Scotty did put the tag late in the last term but the damage was done.

Any other valid reason why we let this guy play alone.

Ablett is un-tagable, but you want to curb his influence forward of centre. He was the match winner with three last quarter goals.

Ablett wasnt a huge problem untill the last quarter then it was one of the best you could see. Very hard to tell on TV who is playing on who and with so many interchanges now it is harder to tag. It looked like Steven, Cj and gilbert were on him. of those only Cj is really a tagger.

Thx all. I didn't realise it, normally CJ does a great job in shutting him down but I saw him going to Bannel may be the result would have been slightly better had we shut him down earlier.

Probably needed to double team Ablett in that last quarter. But even that wouldn't have worked. Nothing would have.

Bloody Ablett (and his father Scablett before him) is the bane of our existence.

To be fair, he looked so good in the 4th by taking advantage of bad mistakes, dropped marks, over commiting and losing feet. Tag wouldnt have been the difference.

Considering how fast, strong and good overhead Ablett is - who could have done any better?

GA has always slaughtered CJ.

I thought Jack did a reasonable job playing head to head early - and got a goal going the other way - but GA went onto another plane in the last quarter.

Ablett was well held by us at metricon last year, we have also got a better record than most teams curtailing the great man.

Unfortunately Gilbert was not the right match up.

I remember Dempster did tag him last year & kept pretty quite. I think the supercoach points for Gazza was 78, since we did not have Dempsey, Gazza escaped "being Dempstered"
Well I hope they come with a fire in the belly on Friday as the young Tigers will make us "earn" a win.

some people should actually watch the game again and when gilbert was on him 2 and 3 quarter he had 6 and 4 disposal and hardely did anything except for a amaziing last quarter.
