Most disappointing thing about tonight's loss

Post: # 1311649Post jmac101 »

We knew what was coming but couldn't do anything to stop it.

All off-season we heard from the coach and players: "our focus is round one", "Don't want a repeat of last year", "They will come out confident", "we are not taking them lightly".

Despite all of the talk, they did take them lightly. They were not mentally ready to start the season. Went through the motions in the first quarter.

The effort in tight was non-existent early - except for from armo and steven. Then when we got on top and took control we couldn't go on with it. Then the young gold coast team tired like we all knew they would, and we still got overrun. Lost between the ears tonight.

Really disappointing that apparently, the focus was to make sure that we didn't take round 1 lightly. Tonight we absolutely did. Again.

Concerning to say the least.

We didn't take then lightly. They tried but were to sloppy with possession and we kicked too many behinds.

We played like we had been out on the p*ss.

Rarely had any clean ball use....and Suns did not look much better. We were dreadful.

we played like st kilda
lose games against lower sides
no leaders on ground that swing a game our way
sloppy lazy players
thats why we have one flag in 140years

our club needs to demand winning culture not a participating culture

There was no celebration and encouragement when we kicked a goal ,it reminded me of Thomas holding the Wizard cup.

Yeah fair call. Jmax

Watching that match last night made me loose all interest in going to the Richmond game next weekend.

You'd hope the players have a really good look at themselves after this debacle. Quite embarrassing really.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Most disappointing was the contested possessions stat- we didn't go hard enough at the contest and too many waited for the easy option. The old story is still there- not enough scoring by our midfield.

Don't remember the last time we came from behind in the last quarter.

Right.

Although, in situations like that I never feel confident that we'll get the job done. Maybe it's just me.

The fact they were ranking may have also helped.
