Stanley "The Rock" in defence.
Where is the like button?
Clearly it's not his natural position but he shows promise in defence and is playing the part.
Be intersting to see him against a proper side of course, but it appears he learnt well in the off season.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
Re: Stanley "The Rock" in defence.
the best game i've seen him play. looks more like a defender than forward.

Re: Stanley "The Rock" in defence.
pretty well best preformed of the saints what game where you watching?? the best thing about his game was the no injury and looked like it would be a great spot for him to play cause he dosent have to run down the wings so hard which is where he always gets injured!!BigMart wrote:Kidding right

Against a proper side? We got beaten so obviously they are a proper side.. Where not..saintspremiers wrote: Be intersting to see him against a proper side of course, but it appears he learnt well in the off season.

Re: Stanley "The Rock" in defence.
I wouldn't be hitting the "like" button for this one. Rhys looks like a cow on rollerskates in defense, for mine. He's a natural forward. I'm hoping this was a temporary move just to add some height in the backline with the absence of Fisher.

Will be better for the run. Good to see him finish the game. Be great if he could string a few games together. Could be an important swing man.

Unfortunately, he'll only go away if we start winning.SaintPav wrote:COULD YOU PLEASE JUST GO AWAY AND STOP POSTING. YOU ARE REALLY AN ANNOYING PERSON.bobmurray wrote:What is his natural position....front row in the medical room....saintspremiers wrote:Where is the like button?

Re: Stanley "The Rock" in defence.
Yes he looked ok. He has to learn how to play defense, and for someone so new to it his efforts were ok.Verdun66 wrote:Will be better for the run. Good to see him finish the game. Be great if he could string a few games together. Could be an important swing man.
We need to favour players with an upside. We are now a "developmental" team.

Remember there was a lot of chipping the ball around in the backline.avid wrote:Did Stanley really take 14 marks? Or is that a typo?
I liked his game, but didn't see anywhere near as much of him as 14 marks suggests.

Re: Stanley "The Rock" in defence.
He will only be good in defence if he has a psych standing next to him. Te boy can play but just needs oodles of confidence to. Believe in his own ability. Playing him in defence will break him as a player. All he needs to do when he gets the. Ball is run, run, and run.

Re: Stanley "The Rock" in defence.
I see a Stanley - Ferguson defense in the key posts. Gwilt, Fisher, Dempster, Siposs, Simpkin and Geary round it off.Verdun66 wrote:Will be better for the run. Good to see him finish the game. Be great if he could string a few games together. Could be an important swing man.
