Not convinced the Tiges showed much last week...a pathetic Blues gave them a whopping head start before they began to play some footy.sunsaint wrote:The really sad thing is we are going to get whacked by richmond next week

Suns were short of their starting 22 too.degruch wrote:

We were crap. Pure and simple. There is no hiding from it, and no excuses.

Up by 12 umpire pays a ridiculous free to Ablett goal then a hundred goal then cheats and pins Stanley goal. Game over.

Dal Santo again showed that there is no point having skill if you can't get near the ball. A pathetic game from him, at least Lenny and Roo put their body on the line but he was mostly unsighted tonight. Tonight was embarrassing, showed that we will be making up the numbers in 2013.

Re: Official Match Day Thread - Vs GCS
So how far away is Dempster and Fisher? But we had no big marking forwards, Maister did nothing, yeah Kosi maybe back next week. Is Sandy playing anyone tomorrow? Our guys couldn't play anyway not enough time to recover.
4 goals in a half of football, beaten by 1 player Ablett.
Sipposs didn't do enough, Newnes will be dropped, Saad didn't do enough, Mileera our best forward by a mile.
We fumbled, looked slow and old.
Have no confidence for next week now, even if we had won, those humid conditions will play havoc with us in the 2nd hald Friday night.
This is what happens when you give up draft picks to pick up hacks from other clubs and have a huge gap between your experienced players and the new recruits.
Mind you, didn't help with the absolute gift given to Ablett at the beginning of the quarter and the one paid against Stanley after he had marked.
Fair dinkum, they allow more contact in basketball, the rules committee is killing our game and taking away contests, these dicks should just leave the game alone, every friggin' year they get some stupid idea in their head so they can still influence the game because they are to old to play it.
No other professional sport in the world has seen as many changes in interpretation of their laws in decades that ours see every year.

Right here...top 6 at the very least. Seriously, an astute football follower would have the Saints up there at the start of the season...we lost to Port this time last year and were unlucky not to be top 4, let alone miss the finals in 2012!desertsaint wrote:I'm still here.SaintPav wrote:+1dragit wrote: Where are all the "we could make the top 4" dreamers...

It is supporter like you that are the reason why you have never seen us win a premiership for so long. You give excuses for our poor skill level and except mediocracy by using excuses like the umpires for our poor performances. It happened last year against Port Adelaide and I suppose it was the umpires fault then as well.stevie wrote:you must be watching a different gamesaints66 wrote:always easy to blame the umps rather that the players and our poor skill levelstevie wrote:Embarrassing game by the umps. Have contributed to the farce this has become. Having the volume down doesn't make it any better.
Grow up and stop being so nieve. We spent a lot of money to send the whole Club to America on a junket and it made no difference as they looked as tired an as ever. Bring on the end of the season so someone please God can delist some of the unskilled dross we have on list and we start to rebuild.
The umpire conspiracy has been going since 1966.

maybe we should save our money and go to Cairns next year to train instead.

Re: Official Match Day Thread - Vs GCS
Umpiring was effing woeful, but we were worse. That effort was insipid and we were all simply blind to the fact that that team is nowhere near finals standard based on tonights efforts!
I get that we were 3 talls short down back, but we had a full strength fwdline and were pathetic. Of course we will be stronger down back and with Joey back in but thats no excuse for that display.
A preseason of praccie matches playing in the sun didn't help, but no more excuses. We just aren't good enough.
