How good has Armo been? Has really shown a lot this half. Hopefully good signs of him taking the next step. Very early though!

Milne did a few nice things. Could easily have had 2 extra goals too/SuperDuper wrote:

Re: Official Match Day Thread - Vs GCS
much better effort in the second quarter by the boys.
armo and geary best on field for mine.
lenny and roo don't look like slowing down. they've lead the way.
steven has also been very good, supporting armo and lenny in the guts.
down back we looked better with stanley and gwilt improved significantly. blake is trying but has often been out of position.
mcevoy looks good when floating back, looks poor at the centre bounces. he's like a statue, can't jump. hickey has been better in the centre and looked dangerous up forward. rucks need to improve though.
milne and saad can't get near it. milera has been clean and our best of the mosquito fleet. roo up forward has been good. maister starting to get his hands on it but needs to improve his output.
all in all we look better on the rebound, cleaner disposal and better finishing ability. however we've been below par in the contested possessions and clearance. gcs are no joke in the department though.

He would displace hickey if anyone, that's more who kosi has lost his spot tosaintsRrising wrote:Just love Maister's workrate and 1%-ers. On his game to date, Kosi is no chance to displace him.

Re: Official Match Day Thread - Vs GCS
Much better quarter, we are actually winning the hit outs, need to do better with clearances.
Armo and Stevens been great, so has Stanley and a good debut by Roberton.
Anybody on here actually at the game, my concern is the weather, just hope it is not warm and humid, because that takes a lot out of you and I'd be worried how we would recover for 6 days to the tigers 8 for next week.
Just look at the records of teams that play up in Darwin, I wouldn't be surprise if there is a very high loss rate the following week for both teams.

Re: Official Match Day Thread - Vs GCS
Without a doubt, the worst commentary team (beside Richo) of all time. BT was a buffoon who benefitted from a great midfield in his day, what's he doing having a go at Richo's tactical gameplay analysis? It took him 25 minutes to realise we'd slowly been strangling the life out of the Suns.
Anyways, Maister looking great, Hickey promising, Roberton, Geary and Siposs doing a great job down back...if we can nail this one, it'll be a great build up.

Indeed. And Dal pulling up sore so early may be restricting how hard he goes in.Richter wrote:Thank goodness Joey is back for next week. Missing his clearance work.saintsRrising wrote:Our midfield unit will need to lift a lot for the Tigers game...
Tiges have a pretty handy midfield unit now. So we need our mids up and firing.
Very, very important for our rucks to go well against Mullet man.

Maybe. But if Scott Watters is saying kosi is a chance of losing his spot pre season (which he did), I'd be leaning towards someone who'd already played for us and proven himself. So that's neither of the because it would have been wilkes not maister.SainterK wrote:He would displace hickey if anyone, that's more who kosi has lost his spot tosaintsRrising wrote:Just love Maister's workrate and 1%-ers. stupid new rule.
It was an incorrect because it wasnt forceful contact.
Asking umpires to define forceful and be consistent in its application.
We all know it won't happen.
This rule should have been trialled in the lower leagues before coming to the premier competition.

Good second quarter against rubbish that is Gold Coast.
Should be a cruisey win from here by a good but not huge margin.
Nice warm up match for Richmond it seems, which is what we need.

Hickey looks more like a young Gardy to me...Maister def keeping Kosi out, he has Kosi's key possie.SainterK wrote:He would displace hickey if anyone, that's more who kosi has lost his spot tosaintsRrising wrote:Just love Maister's workrate and 1%-ers. I tell you what, as far as I'm concerned, BT isn't half the commentator old Rex was. I know a lot of people didn't like Rex, but I enjoyed his broadcast he was unique, it only became tiresome when people like Shane Crawford tried to copy his style, and in many ways, BT is trying to do the same and does not have the charisma for it.
