Re: Saints Team Rd 1 v Gold Coast
I like that Rhys gets to play on a young gold coast forward for his first 'real game' as a full back...

I would of expected Leigh to get Gablett otherwise.

Re: Saints Team Rd 1 v Gold Coast
I knew they would go with Rhys under the circumstances (Dempster and Fisher injuries).
Heck we may as well play him against GC rather than for Sandy. Waste of time him playing for Sandy at this time of year. If we cant beat GC we are no good anyway.

Re: Saints Team Rd 1 v Gold Coast
I'm tipping that Stanley probably won't play and Lee will come in.
Re: Saints Team Rd 1 v Gold Coast
Stanley or Hickey out, TDL in IMO....will be super dewy and render the talls under their best...lots of spillage

Re: Saints Team Rd 1 v Gold Coast
A good looking side. I also have my doubts about Rhys playing. They rested him last week and with injury in the previous weeks, it seems a risk to bring him straight in at this level for a full game. Lee to come in.
Not risking Fisher for this one is also a good move. Let's just hope that they are "up" for this one - I still have bad memories of last year against Port Adelaide.
Kosi is going to struggle this year as many predicted. Let's hope that he can get 5 games at least, to make it to 200!

I watched CJ pretty closely during the NAB and you just have to admire his attack on the ball. He really does get to every contest and even when not directly controlling the ball will paddle it, shepherd, harass and generally do the one percenters. He will keep getting games because he is ridiculously fit and will run all day and do the things coaches love. He is obviously lacking in the clean disposal area but he works his arse off for his spot. I think Nath Wrights spot is the one Joey would take when he come in unless Nathan is an absolute gun in his first game.

Some effort from the forward pocket. I know he's quick, but not that quick.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
Re: Saints Team Rd 1 v Gold Coast
No one in the AFL can shut down GA like CJ can. Good to see that Watters is playing him after keeping him out of the team a lot last season.gringo wrote:SainterK wrote:Would he of if Joey was playing?FQF wrote:Jones still getting a gig.

What is the reason for Dempster and Fisher missing out?

If Ray's named fourth on the interchange does that mean he is sub?

Anyone in the 22 named can end up being sub - actually 25 as they can make late changes.
