Supporter groups- what's on in your area.

Post: # 1300470Post saintbrat »

with the Saints locker heading to the country and the local Supporter groups glad of the contact.
and the great news that Western Saints putting out their first newsletter with lots of intersting plans for 2013

I was wondering if you ever connect to a supporter group?
and what do you expect of them?.

what do you see as their role...

or do social media and Fox Footy mean they have less options of what to offer supporters.

I would love to connect with a supporter group here in the ACT but they seem to ebb and flow and unsure if there is one at the moment, though happy for someone to prove me wrong. Be a good chance to take advantage as the Saints are playing at Manuka this year !!

it’s a good question Bratty , at the Western Saints we ask our members every second year to fill out a survey to get a better feel of what they want from their supporter group a lot of the responses for us are out of the control of the Western Saints or even the club itself but we do appreciate the feedback .. in WA we had a smidge over 1600 members last year a number that grew despite the overall club membership decreasing .. I have high ambitions of growing that number even more.. ultimately we operate to promote the club and increase membership for the club to do that we hopefully are making our WA members feel more connected to the club regardless of the distance we are from the club

Is there room?

What with the entire Liberal Party, the complete judiciary and the local chapter of the KKK meeting there too.

I'm looking for a good looking chick that supports the Saints but so far have failed.
It's like winning that 2nd premiership.

western saints are a great supporter group who deserve more credit. saint trav does amazing work for us supporters over here in the west. i hope the club recognizes their effort in someway, especially in an AFL environment saturated by the eagles and dockers

thanks Defacto ... we still have got more work to do over here from the Western Saints point of view. i know i personally want to increase our membership numbers even more.... we were pipped at the post by our Tassie cousins last year to be the second bigest saints supporter group outside of Victoria and we moved to fourth behind the Western Magpies , WA Hawks and Carltons WA supporter group as the biggest non Eagles and Dockers AFL supporter group in WA .. i want to get us back to sitting as number 1 in both... hopefully the word spreads throughout WA about our telecast functions at the Inglewood and we get lots of Saints fans coming to the functions and joining our big Western Saints family

Bratty , no function this week for the Western Saints as the friday night games start too early for us to organise them after work .. our home venue the Inglewood Tavern will be showing the game live on the big screen though so any Saints supporters who are keen are more than welcome ... the next Western Saints function is the big game against the bombers ...

ALBURY/WODONGA - we have a full to the brim 44 on the coach this week, thanks to the Bombers fans, (their money is the same colour as ours) could have booked another 10 or so. Didn't even advertise in the paper this week
