Dale Thomas
How would Dale look in the Red white and Black for $550 a year? Not a bad option. Will be 26 in 214, compliment the older players and fill that 23-27 age gap.
marquee player = more supporters/memberships
might be a senior player when we are ready to challenge again
++++++we have the money.....
i know its early but I have the feeling we will get a free agent at the end of this year

No tks - as last season showed still an up and down player
Can play well on big stage ... also goes unsighted for long stretches imo

Proven premiership and big-game player, pretty hard to come by. I don't think we would get him though?Teflon wrote:No tks - as last season showed still an up and down player

Re: Dale Thomas
He would look fantastic in the Red, White and Black.
I couldn't see him making the switch though. We would have to throw big money at him.
The only advantage I could see us in being able to woo him is via Scott Watters - if Dale is a big fan of his from his time at the Pies. But I can't see it happening anyway.

Re: Dale Thomas
He's already indicated "money talk"
He's 25/26 - is he really a strong player you build around and devote that much of your cap to ???
For mine he's flashy - good is great, but not often enough. He ain't no Pendlebury or Dal for that matter
No way I'd chase him

Re: Dale Thomas
I'd take him at the right price, we're guaranteed to be short of midfielders in the next five years or so and there's no doubt he can play. $600k would be the absolute ceiling though, unless he has a blockbuster year this year - which could well happen.
But I'd be surprised if he left Collingwood.

Re: Dale Thomas
2nd most overrated player going around. In any case I don't think we would benefit from having an overpaid mega star in a team that is in rebuild mode. Maybe chase a high priced star in a couple of years once we know how the team is developing.

Re: Dale Thomas
We need a midfielder who will be starting to peak in about two - three years. You get the feeling he's already played his best footy.
Re: Dale Thomas
Considering where our list is at I dont see the point. I'd be looking towards younger players from GWS and GC even know we have to trade.

No Dale Thomas
Would rather Saints chase Dion Prestia / Trent McKenzie from Gold Coast. Disappointing to see Gws being able to extend all their players contracts was hoping some would come home .Would love Horlin Smith from Geelong but they are sure to tie him up long term.

Re: Dale Thomas
I'd take him in a second.
He only signed for two years last time I think, can't help but think why... Would have been at the top of his game then. Should have signed longer... Maybe the club couldn't afford.

Re: Dale Thomas
I'd rather we got an "A" Grade mid than this money hungry dude from the filth
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
