Gian Rooney joins Saturday night footy, and looks like they may have something on the Saints soon enough.

That will be interesting, hope she knows more about footy than the weather. A couple of weeks ago she said the storms were heading towards the Tasmanian Sea, wherever the hell that would be. Being a Queensland swimmer I doubt she'd know f all about our game.

She may have said or meant the Tasman sea , that's the 2,000 km or so bit of the South Pacific between Australia and New Zealand. If she is a swimmer from Queensland she would have dipped in it quite a lot I would think....

Interesting that Chris Tarrant on AFL360 said Watters contacted him at the end of last year to "see where he was at." in other words asking him if he'd consider continuing his AFL career with the Saints.

Yep I saw that too. He would have been very, very handy.

As per his last game were he had to revert to fighting.

- discussed the need to bring a new generation through whilst still aiming to win each match and how that was a balancing act. Specifically said that development would not be an excuse tho.
- hoped that Armo and McEvoy can take the step up to next level
- 26 <23yos means there is strong emphasis on development
- goddard gone = opportunity for others, when someone leaves there are generally others who appreciate the opening
- Riewoldt has had an excellent pre season, also thought that barring his late season injury last year that he would have been vieing for all australian selection
- strongly supported Fish, praised his professionalism
- club has invested heavily in the next generation of key forwards but can't cover all areas in one draft/off season
- could possibly play 4 small forwards but some would have to be rotating through the midfield
- said he wouldn't expect any outsiders to talk us up. I took it that he was happy to paint us as underdogs.

That's exactly what I thought he would have said.

In fact Scotty really should get into politics once he's delivered his 6th Saints Pre-Season Call to Arms address.
He can sell a really good story. We're building, building and then building? I reckon he'll be our coach for the next 6 years or at least as long as he can sell the message to us and more importantly the board. He really is a good salesman.

But he also appears to be genuine. And being a good salesman he should be able to pass on his message to our players. (particularly our new guys).
it's just my gnarly annoyed frustrated, despairing, why us, and misogynistic male St Kilda "BEEN THERE BEFORE" (for 50 years) personality coming to the fore when I appear doubtful.

But maybe this time? ... Live in hope.
