Re: Wright
I was talking to Lenny at the 300 club launch yesterday and I asked him who has impressed him the most out of the younger players and he said Wright has been extremely good all preseason for a first year play and the he has all the makings to become a great player for the club.

Did you ask him if he has retired?

Re: Wright
I asked Lenny if was going to be his last year, he said he hopes not because he still loves the game as much as ever and he will hopefully be around for a few more seasons to come.

The 19-year-old was impressive on Sunday, gathering 17 touches and contributing solidly to the win. But he said that this game hadn't changed his objectives as the Saints move towards the start of the home and away season.
“I’m just trying to earn the respect of the boys down back and try to do my part,” he said.

Re: Wright
Apart from what I thought was a very solid game, the main thing I liked was when he had a mark/free late in the game. Was about 65 out and instead of bombing it as long as possible and ending up with an easy rushed behind, he lobbed it about 20 out, we crumbed the ball and goaled. Even seasoned players have a habit of landing it almost on the line to make it too easy for the opposition to rush/punch through. Well thought through and shows he has some footy smarts.
Give me one flag & I'll go to my grave a happy man.
Re: Wright
You may be thinking of Newnesy whose kicking was strangely off yesterday. I agree with the Geary comments purely just from his body shape though, good signs, good signs.Munga wrote:Was he the one that shanked a few kicks? I still trying to spot these guys.

Re: Wright
Lovely clean hands from the young guy and has good evasive skills. I loved his highlight reel when he ran between two players gathered the ball and ran off them. I can see him being a very good player he looks like he has x factor.
