Re: Stanley knee injury
Bummer.
Not sure how he did it, didn't even get caught in the turf or anything.
Just running, and it twisted awkwardly.
On a side note, not sure Reid touched it much prior to Stanley going off.

Re: Stanley knee injury
Surely Stanley/we are due for some luck & his knee be just a strain?

Re: Stanley knee injury
No idea but from me it looked like just a knock to the knee from a boot.
But as someone else said hes a touchy racehorse.

Re: Stanley knee injury
They showed him in the rooms although proppy he was walking ok and they didn't have it wrapped up. Was an odd sort of jar / twist that he did

Re: Stanley knee injury
Looked like he coped a knock to the knee from Reid, which caused him to hyper-extend his knee. Didn't look good!
Hopefully it's just jared, as he showed a fair bit of promise for his first game as a key backman

This doesn't add a lot but it's the only thing "official" I've found....

Hyper-extended evidently.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Re: Stanley knee injury
Ice on the front and back of the knee at three quarter time.
Stopped icing in the last qtr.
Bloke next to me asked him what he had done and he shrugged his shoulders.
Could be a three weeker or could be a season ender.

Lance or James??

Michael Gleeson@mickgleeson
Rhys Stanley knee "only" hyper-extended. Certainly better than the alternative after the way it looked when he landed. Docs are bullish
Watters said he was otherwise v happy with Stanley playing first game at fullback and doing well on Reid (goalless until Stanley went off)
Said Stanley would go forward still but he wanted him to bed down position at key defence.

Re: Stanley knee injury
Judgement reserved for Stanley going back. I notice he has no idea how to tackle.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Stanley knee injury
From Twitter...
St Kilda's Rhys Stanley has had scans on his knee. Reckons he'll only miss a couple of weeks. It was heavily bandaged.

Tim Rosen @timrosen35
Saints supporters out there, Stanley should be available to play by round 1. No ligament damage on scans, but still sore and swollen today
