Game plans don't just exist for centre bounces... They are set plays...
Explain a forward structure to me P66?? How does a group of (5) set up so they create individual space, are predictable to the midfield and each other??? It's a little more complex than one dropping off at the bounce.... Because he will have an opponent...
Again you get personal. What a dick you are. I have played footy and been involved in other aspects for 40 years. The last few as runner and selector at my club. We had Chris fagan there for the last 2 years. He certainly told our coaching staff things that they had never thought or heard of and he said he didnt over burden us so i am suggesting I know as much as you. I know there is more to game plans than just centre bounces. The one thing you got completely wrong though is when a player does drop off then an opponent doesnt always go to them. Matter of fact most times they dont because depending where the ball up is they would rather an extra around the ball.
What I find amazing is you know all this from TV where they basically have close up shots as you have said you only go to 2 or 3 AFL games a year. You are trully an amazing person. Pity you know SFA. Now how did you compare BJ in 2009/10 to Harvs in his 2 brownlow years and Plugger when he averaged 7 goals a game in 1991/92? And people are supposed to think you know what you are talking about. You are seriously deluded.

Because you make a statement and then come up with Milera as the one player we have recruited who plays in the middle and kicks goals as well. He was recruited as a forward and have played probably 10% elsewhere. Every pies player you mentioned plays as a mid and then goes forward. We havent recruited one of those types. Carry on though.
What ever Mr ignorant, go back to fawning over Mac evoy.

My god. Care to explain what is wrong with what I said or just want to make a fool of yourself. That answer you gave is perfect for someone about 13 years of age. I am sorry about discussing something with someone so young.
Must be high quality stuff if you're are runner... Haha and selector... Important roles they are..
Chris knows his stuff, a great coach in Tassie, as was Grant... I must say, a lot have people can drop names and I have played under, or played with or done a coaches courses with many current or ex-afl/VFL players and coaches, even worked with some... Doesn't mean I know what they know... Not sure you can drop a name of an ex development coach/ass coach and you win more credibility...
I played on a Brownlow medallist once, maybe I should rate my ability on that??
I'm sure you were on the inner sanctum when discussing strategy.... What was the successful structure of ormond, who dropped off but still operated with six fwds?? Must have been a mid down???(ormond wasn't it)
On BJ
I didn't compare him to the two greatest on ability.... I said that was his purple patch, as those two had.... But surely you understood that??
Where has all the love gone??
You seem to have cracked it??? Cheer up!!
BTW.... Who has an old runner?? Do you mean waterboy??

I said we are recruiting guys who can play midfield or rest forward/ kick goals from the midfield. Newnes was that type at TAC level, Milera was played more away from goal than as a true small forward last year, TDL played that role at Sydney, Saad was tried in that role in NAB games. I would say that has been an external criticism from outside the club- lack of goals from the mid field. I think there is enough evidence to suggest the Saints are looking at players who can kick goals as mids, rest forward so rotations are easier to manage and be shifted from set positions into other areas.
It's not a ridiculous suggestion, just because your myopic vision doesn't allow you to see anyone else's opinion doesn't make you right rainman.

You wouldnt have a clue about me but i did get to know your ideas about footy when you compared BJ's 2 years to Harvs and Pluggers best 2 years. Now that is a person of no knowledge at all. And yes I was the runner. Dont beleive then place you balls on it. Lets have a wager. I will not post on here if i wasnt the runner and if you are wrong you can piss off. its a win for most people then. Either you or me go. Have no idea why you mentioned a brownlow medalist but hey you have horse shoe to look at. Care to explain how you know all this from TV. Do you get a different link to everyone else?
And I still love you even though you are dumber than I thought and I had you pretty low anyway. See you soon big boy.

Milne and Schneider have also played away from goals but then they have gone back to their rightful positions. Lets face it we havent recruited anyone who can mainly play in the middle and then go forward like Swan or some others at the pies do. You have given me one example there. You have named 3 small forwards who play 95% of the game forward and a HBF. And I fly Virgin.

Actually your right the last time I argued with someone so irrational was when I was about 13 and had testosterone fuelled arguments with my brother. Why do I bother- it's like talking to an ignorant imbecile. Your right Plugger- I don't actually think you have any idea about your own position other than a need to be contrary to other peoples opinion, but hey you are the man.

Excellent stuff. When asked for example come up with that crap. It is typical of people who express something that isnt correct and then someone points out what they said isnt right so they divert the topic.

I gave you examples but you're too arrogant or ignorant to concede anything or even take on the content of what is posted. i don't actually think you even finish reading before you try to rile people with your nonsensical rants for your own amusement apparently.
I wish you were at least interesting with your debating- that's why I feel like I'm arguing with juveniles there is nothing to even make it an interesting argument. You have the posting equivalent of "I know you are but what am I" down pat. Annoying mediocrity.

Unlike you he at least has the courage to debate. Amd you claim to be a lawyer. What a joke. If someone questioned you, you would put them on your ignore list. Now that would be funny in court. And it doesnt help anyones cause if you are on their side. Just stuffs up their credibility.
Yes... I compared BJ to Plugger and Harvs.... That's exactly what I wrote...
And I'm glad you're a runner... Such a difficult, well respected position... Hope you wear the flouro top with pride. Transmit those messages accurately and don't get in the way of play.
I did it once, when I hadn't been cleared to play from WA. Hated it. Would rather make the decisions or get a kick. But clubs need people like you.
On the fwd/mid rotation
Siposs and Murdoch both played midfield and FF as Juniors, Schnieder was a straight out rover... But never has been given a gig at AFL level... But could spend minutes on the ball.... Extremely good in traffic and has clean hands...
Newnes has been highlighted as a flanker utility.... Ray also.... Could end up mids
Dunnell played in all three areas of the ground last year
Ledger and Steven and Armo for that matter have played small forward but are generally mids
Dal Santo can play on a flank and on ball.... So can Joey
Curran has played small forward and as a ball winner and as a tagged
Not sure on Sanders, but looks a on ball, flanker type... Same with wright
Minchington is a small fwd, but the talent and body to play as an inside mid... Great awareness and touch

There's a few options
Well how embarrissing comparing BJ years in 9/10 to Plugger in 91/92 and Harvs in 01/02. Won one 2 brownlows and other averaged 7 goals a game for 2 years. The other came second and third in a club B&F. And you think people would resect your opinions. They may respect your humour and to think I thought you were humourless when you are just a person who has no idea about footy. I hope you dont tell you kids about the game. They will look foolish at school if they take notice of you.
And yes I was the runner 2 years ago. Sorry I didnt play but at 49 years of age I thought it was beyond me and didnt think I would ever have to answer to the most arrogant person i have ever seen write on a footy site. I could have made a fool of myself playing stupid rules but I thought I would leave it the expert, you.
Tonight when i tell you to turn on your side, please do it. Your snoring is killing me nearly as much as your lack of footy knowledge. But you are funny. More in the sad way though.
How many games watched per year... Makes one an expert.
My old mate next door, who is a low functioning bogan goes to 2 games a weekend, should I consult him for expertise??
I have no idea what you are talking about. Were you in Batman because you post like the riddler. All I know is when I watch games on TV it is actually impossble to tell how a side sets up and if you thought anything else you a lying to people on here as well as yourself. Please come over now. I am desperate for you cuddles.
Did I compare BJ's ability to the other two??...... Come on man, surely you not gonna hang hat on this for as long as you went with the other one... That lasted two weeks?!
I was also going to use Kouta in 2000 or Kosi in 2005, but their patches weren't long enough, so the analogy did not work... I believe BJ was at his absolute peak for around 2 seasons.... Similar to plugger and Harves..... albeit at different levels....Is that hard to understand????
I would argue Goddard's best was probably better than Harvey's.
HOWEVER Harvey played near his best for 19 out of 21 seasons
WHEREAS BJ played near his best for maybe 3 seasons.
If our midfield doesn't drop off, we may see some final action this year - as our defence should be more settled and our forward line looks to have more tall marking options, speed and a lot more forward pressure (something that was almost non-existent in 2010 and 2011, under RL).
We just need a couple of the mature age and mature bodied younger midfield recruits to come good and help out - even Roberton could be a big midfielder in the making with a bit of luck, who knows? .. I'm sure SW will be able to get more out of him than RL did - that's almost a given.

Point of fact.
Harvey played a total of 19 games in combined years of 2001/2002. He was captain for both those seasons.
He won no Brownlow Medals and only received 14 votes in the two seasons. He also did not win any B&Fs in those two seasons.
The club won just 4 and 5.5 games in those to two seasons.
Harvey was removed from the captaincy after the 2002 season and never held it again.
The Robert Harvey golden era you're looking for is 1997/1998. In those two seasons he played 49 games (including five finals), averaged over 30 possessions a game and received 58 Brownlow votes from 44 games. He won the Brownlow in both those seasons and was the B&F winner in both those seasons.
Based on that information then BJ's 2009/2010 was clearly better than Harvey's 2001/2002.

Yes you are correct. I wrote down the wrong years. BM compared BJ in 9/10 to Harvs in 97/98 and that was the years I should have written down. My point stands though. Harvs was clearly better in that 2 year period than BJ in 9/10. Anyway I dont really care. Had enough of it last night.
