Who said ASADA dont have the right to issue sanctions? I have said all along that the AFL will have bugger all to do with the penalties. And at the moment the Bombers are facing nothing.Con Gorozidis wrote:Yes true- Not criminal. No crim charges versus Lance (at this stage)/plugger66 wrote:Con Gorozidis wrote:
And if they have been given the wrong stuff I would think Danks and the weapon are to blame. By the way ASADA isnt law. Funny that they got Charles and told everyone when they werent part of ASADA. Didnt sweep that under the carpet.
I have no idea what you are on about. The AFL joined ASADA because they were forced but you said something about law. It isnt illegal to have sudafed but you can lose two years of your career but you arent going to jail. And what does you last point even mean? Who said he was?
But ASADA do have the legal right to issue sanctions (like banning/suspending players). This is what the Bummers are facing.

Isn't it illegal to obstruct or lie to ASADA?
Marion Jones was sent to gaol for giving false testimony I think

She was sent to jail because she lied in court. She perjured herself.

Re: Goddards managers comments.
Goddard's hip is f$&cked. He will be no more than a GOP. If I'd been given the prognosis he was given at the end of 2011, I'd have taken everything I could get as well. Good luck to him. Just don't expect him to excel, or be part of a premiership. This is one I'm confident we've gotten the better of.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
Re: Goddards managers comments.
he actually got the most possessions of any bummer player in the first game...13 i believe....Solar wrote:expensive half back flanker tonight..... yes he got it 7 times but only really effected the play once. Midfield time... bleh as if! No jobe and still he doesn't play midfield

I'm still upset at him making the decision he did
do his shorts remind you of Lloydy's big behind?> and what's with the hair cut...
I see the pies are in their alternate strip.. Black stripes on white.

Heard he was the bombers best over the night.... Think it's hard to stomach now... Wait till he sets up the play of HB against us...

I didnt think so. Played a good game but didnt have much influence on the result. We will miss him though because he can play but I still think we made the right decision not to bankrupt our salary cap considering where we are now.

Luke Ball was captain and he aint here either. Captaincy doesn't ensure loyalty.savatage wrote:As did Watter's speech at the B&F talking about loyalty & commitment.
IMO Goddard has never looked anything close to captaincy material. Too much of an angry ant, too petulant towards team mates & very sulky.
I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

yeah, he was easily.....nearly won the second game for the dons......BigMart wrote:Heard he was the bombers best over the night.... Think it's hard to stomach now... Wait till he sets up the play of HB against us...

Re: Goddards managers comments.
watched both of his games.
personal belief is that the stats lie - His overall impact wasn't that impressive
had a few handballs that he just shot back to the "quarter back" or dinky kicks side ways.
He didn't really set up play or look dangerous - until he went forward.
IMO will play better for them then he did for us in 11' 12'
but wont be the player he was in 09' 10'

Don't think we are planning a top 4 assault for at least the next 3 to 4 years, so should be a mutually beneficial decision.

Re: Goddards managers comments.
Thought he wasn't too bad as well, and his kick for goal against the pies was great - although he hit the post with his next shot from a tough angle.
I'm in 2 minds about Goddard - I'd like to wish him well but I don't want to see him be too successful. I think we will miss him but I think we already were - he wasn't the player of 09/10 in his last couple of seasons with us.
I think we were very wise not to match the offer. He moved on but so have we.
Go Saints!!!

I would expect he will be better this year than he was last year because he has something to prove

Just tag him if need to be. Because he can't break one. Numerous times he struggled last year with one.

Going to take awhile to adjust to him without the white.

Re: Goddards managers comments.
It hurts when he plays well. I hope they penalise the bombers even more now. I remember Ball left and we all hoped Armo would slot straight in and pick up the slack of Ball's 20 to 25 hard earned possessions. It's taken a while longer than hoped. I hope Siposs can do what Armo couldn't and really make the loss of a class player less of an issue- no pressure son.
I know it's horrible but there was a little bit of how good would it be if his knee went now to crush those dodgy Bombers hearts.

Re: Goddards managers comments.
thought he was ordinary last night and was clearly restricted by his ultra tight whateverittakes bombers jumper and ymca haircut.
he gets cheap possessions alot of the time, and sure is a good kick, but he is not worth what they are paying him for four years.
lol as they did not play him in the middle. commentating saying at the saints he was in no mans land. same thing last night.
dexterity-wise imo he is too slow to play centre.
ruffle his feathers and take him out of the game and then job is a goodin'!

This right there ^^^ is what annoyed me endlessly about goddard.millarsaint wrote: he gets cheap possessions alot of the time
He has the skills to be a top 5 player and really control a game, but most of his disposals are handballs back to the "quarterback" or dinky kicks side ways
he hardly ever takes the game on with his elite foot skills and really hurts the opposition like the top 5 players do.
Not saying he isnt a good player - but in 09'10' we saw a player who could achieve anything
right now we see a good player that never consistently made the next step and is closer to the end of his career.
for 800k a year or whatever the stupid figure is im happy that the club cut ties.
I would rather find the next matt suckling to play the role Bj does then pay him that amount to be a good not great player
