Appreciate the report, but I think we might be expecting a bit much if we think he is going to a better player than Goddard next year… One is a 16 gamer with potential but who is still on the fringe of the senior side, the other is 200 game dual AA, in the top ten paid players in the comp.
Goddard isn't in the top 30 players in the comp, though.
No doubt we as fans over hype players willy nilly... but Sippos is legit.

Depends which Goddard you are talking about. Are you referring to Goddard of 2009/10 or Goddard 2011/12?

Either of those Goddard periods are comfortably better than Siposs (at the moment)
Arryn has played what… 2 games across half back so far? Including one good one against GWS…
We get pretty hysterical on here at times about how good we think our players are…
If he gets anywhere near the level of Goddard that will be an amazing result, fingers crossed, but at this stage he's still a kid with potential.
For whomever asked, Staley was playing down back againtst Kosi, Beau etc and surprised me - big kid and seemed to move pretty well, as did Webster. Shenton was the other one that surprised me - had him basically written off, but the dash out of the back line he showed a few times later in the game was encouraging. Seems quicker than I thought.

IF you look around the room and can't identify who the sucker is, then it's probably you!
Yea pretty excited about Shenton and Curren, both were impressive. I expected Curren, but not Shenton, he should get some games!
I thought Webster was pretty good too
Pretty happy
Ball movement was good, and skills were pretty good.
Had it been at Moorabbin same time/day you'd easily double that figure.
The real crap is the estimate. My estimate would have that figure at around 3,000+. The crowd was 2 deep all the way around the Peninsula Link side and would have been 6-8 deep on the bowling club side from the far end goals right around to the clubrooms !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Club statement is around 1,500- But it was a very good number- and many more than Egales or crows or blues and Pies who all held theirs mid week and some behind closed doors
I asked TDL how did it compare to Sydney and he said the training before GF there would have been that many but other than that never.
A number of the older Saints sat out the game.
When asked why Nick Riewoldt, Lenny Hayes, Sean Dempster and Adam Schneider
didn’t play Watters commented; “They are just old!”.
Watters said it was normal to modify the campaigns of the older players. One promising
young Saint who sat out the game was Sebastian Ross who suffered a cold 48 hours
before the game.
Noted a couple of ex saints hanging around in the crowd - using their connections and a signed saints football for one's toddler as decoy for their real jobs-
spying for the opposition...

Based on what i saw last year if you re excited about shenton then we re in more trouble than i thought.
He must have improved thru the roof.

He actually started looking good towards the end of the year- moved back and seemed to suit him.
