Tom Lee
Positive comment from an article re. AFL Dreamteam prospects:
"Tom Lee (St Kilda). Price: $108,500. Position: FWD. Lee was a standout for Claremont in the WAFL last season, after spending a year at Adelaide in 2009. He averaged four goals a game and was unstoppable for the Tigers up forward, finishing second in the best and fairest. He is strong above his head and is sound in front of goal. Likely to debut early in the year and could create some match-up headaches for opposition teams."

Re: Tom Lee
I think the AFL is a LOT different to these state league competition's....
Let's see Lee progress from WAFL to VFL to AFL and then we can make a call.....

Re: Tom Lee
From what I've read & heard Tom Lee will play senior footy this year BUT I suspect that he will take a bit of time to pick up the pace and won't play any more than 6-10 games !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

I'd like to think that at 70ish, I will be savvy enough to keep up with this kind of thing...bobmurray wrote:You have a team already..............keen as....borderbarry wrote:I hope Tom Lee does better than 6 - 10 games. I have him in my SuperCoach team.

Re: Tom Lee
Not sure the middle step is a progression, considering it's basically the same standard. WAFL may even be better.bobmurray wrote:I think the AFL is a LOT different to these state league competition's....

I was being a sarcastic smart arse- Priddis shouldn't get a game because of his stupid hair style anyway.
Re: Tom Lee
great observation. he will face the same problem wilkes did. the transition from wafl to afl is a massive step up when it comes to endurance.Eastern wrote:From what I've read & heard Tom Lee will play senior footy this year BUT I suspect that he will take a bit of time to pick up the pace and won't play any more than 6-10 games !!
lee does have something in his favor though. due to a couple of clubs interest in him, he was able to prepare him self from in the later stages of the season. claremont started to get some serious miles into his legs. pushing him up the ground, into the ruck, on the wing. you name it, he did it.
6 games would be a massive win for us

Re: Tom Lee
6 games would be a big dissapointment IMO. 22 years old, he should be becoming a regular if his development is somewhere near on track. If fit, he should be showing enough to get selected every game, that is a big win. Only managing 6 games at that age is well below a par score. That goes for anyone on our list who is that age, however you are acquired. Of course there are a few exceptions like rucks or international recruits.. but Tom Lee did pre-season last year with dockers... did a pre-season with adelaide and has done everything this pre-season.... The only massive win would be if he is ready to rip.. anything less may be a win, but certainly not a massive one

Re: Tom Lee
He's just another draft pick in reality, wen though he's a trade.
If he plays 6 - 10 games and shows potential I'm happy.
FFS he's only 22 and could still play for 8 seasons beyond 2013!

Re: Tom Lee
Really he should be expected to play all 22 games. He's 22 and has been playing senior football for four years so it shouldnt be a body issue it will be form. I cant see any reason why Watters shouldnt be expecting 22 games out of him.

Re: Tom Lee
Riewoldt, Stanley, Koschitzke, Wilkes. Can't fit em all in the side and he's currently behind all four in line for a key forward spot. Playing 22 would be an excellent achievement given that.CURLY wrote:Really he should be expected to play all 22 games. Re: Tom Lee
That is all correct but the aim should be for him to play 22 the same with all on the list other than perhaps Pearce and Lever. I dont understand why people think that 6 or so games should be par for young players in a season.bergholt wrote:Riewoldt, Stanley, Koschitzke, Wilkes. White may be a surprise package too. Unlikely but Newnes was unlikely.

I agree entirely with your sentiment but at this stage he should be aiming to play more than 22 games.CURLY wrote:That is all correct but the aim should be for him to play 22 the same with all on the list other than perhaps Pearce and Lever.
