I remember on the day of the l966 Grand Final, the Hun had a big article about Ian Synman not being able to play that day. But thankfully he did, and took home his second premiership with the Saints, as he was captain of the thirds team that won about 8 years earlier.

Perhaps this Kipper stuff is just superstitious rubbish being pumped into the minds of vacuous cretins?

Hey, I reckon the whole thing's bulls*** but if you're one of the people who care then - no, you can't become less observant magically. But they can just vote beforehand, you're right that it's not a huge thing.St Igmata wrote:well u cant vote any other way???

Enrico I don't like being called a vacuous cretin for my beliefs nor do I like being told to piss off joffa. No one has seriously suggested that the date should be changed for a minority. Just in passing perhaps that majority might go off their heads if an election were held on Easter or Xmas.
I can see no intolerance by the minority here just that of enrico and joffa for others beliefs. If that's not anti Semitic undertones, it's getting damn close.

No idea what it is. Of course I could look it up if I cared and that isnt having a go at Jewish people at all. i think people have a right to follow any religion they like. Matter of fact some of the comments regarding this religion or any other are offensive. But this is a storm in a tea cup. And my dad is Jewish and my mum catholic. Me I follow the saints.

Maybe to be fair and even things up we need a thread titled "Tony is anti-everything and anti footy."

Oh dear what a idiotic rant
The OP labels our PM anti semetic because of some idiotic religious festival. For a start you tremendous tool, I couldn't care less if it offends you that I dont like Judiasm. I dont like any fkn stupid religion. They are all equally worthless and their existence OFFENDS ME.
I stand by the fact that if the jews dont want to vote beforehand and want to label the PM anti semetic, they can piss off. Wouldn't care if they are Jews, Muslim, Christian, Hindu or any other dopey irrational faith.
So take you feigned outrage and stick it where the sun dont shine you incredible idiot. I feel for your poor wife to married to such a fool as you, especially one who would attempt to bring my children into your insulting and tremendously stupid piece of garbage.
You have embarrassed yourself, but thats not unusual

The Jewish beliefs are probably no more stupid and illogical than most other mainstream religions.
To criticise them on their illogical basis is not anti semetic.
Days of the weeks are abitary.
Weeks and Months are arbitary.
Why people totally adjust their behaviour on particular days because of ancient rulings from religious elders based on illogical superstitious clap-trap just proves our education system is failing us particularly in regard to Science and clear thinking.

Re: Joolia anti-semetic and anti-footy
This whole thread is a non-issue.
I'd suggest moving it to the GF but it would struggle to be relevant there also.
An election has been called on a date that incoveniences a percentage of the population. There are processes in place to address that. End of story.
What that has to do with anyone's beliefs is totally beyond me.

Do you expect to be left alone with your aesthetic stance? I would think so, and I would think you have the right to be left alone. Up to you to believe in what you want.
You've decided to have a crack which is just average as.
Yom Kippur is the holiest day for the Jewish people, a 24 hour fast, and of great importance. It is not just another festival for the Jewish people. You don't believe in religion, no worries, but respect those that do. Yes, Jewish people can vote prior to, and most will. Hopefully no major issues occur in the lead up to the election that makes one want to change their vote.
For the record, when it comes to be anti-Semitic, these quotes are the worry:
"If they dont want to participate in our democracy, they can piss off"
"some idiotic religious festival"
"their existence OFFENDS ME"
Anyway, not always easy educating the ignorant and stupid I guess. Too easy to be a keyboard warrior these days!

as a Jew, i find that comment in very poor taste. Yes, I will vote, but by using a postal vote.
