Re: Jackson Ferguson
Rather than try his luck on 18yo long shots - Lyon preferred to take out the middle man and save time by recruiting 25yo non shots. Take the uncertainty out of recruiting - recruit guys you know wont make it!'
Lets face it - developing players is hard work and takes time. Who needs that? Not RL.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
In due course the Lyon years will be seen for the disaster they were.
Lovett/Ball debacle was only the cherry on the cake.
Unwatchable game style and "the bubble" more of his great achievements.
DOG of a bloke.
Good riddance!

They may be seen as the last crack at a GF for years. I cant stand the fact RL decided to take that approach because the way we have previously approached it obviously worked. Why wouldnt he have tried that way? Pathetic coaching. 2 GF's and no wins. Our club has always been much more successful than that.
The funny thing is people without bias and who understand footy have rated RL in the top 3 coaches for about the last 5 years. What would they know though.

Exactly correct. What a sham and a farce to say the Lyon years were a disaster
What gross revisionist stupidity.
Yes two GF's in a row - what an unmittigated disaster. Why was lyon trying to win in 2009 and 2010 when he should have known that recruiting for 2014 and 2015 was the priority?
OK enough of the sarcasm, the recruiting in our GF years was poor, and we could have done much better (see Geelong for example). It may well be that Lyon is a parasite of a coach and cherry picks teams he thinks can win a flag, but to call his years as the Saints coach a disaster is mindbogglingly stupid and ignorant.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Come on K, you dont expect these blokes to stick with a thread do you?
Anyway, has he really grown to 196?
I can easily see him holding down CHB for us.

That's the trick really, holding onto him while Fisher continues to hold down CHB.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
Reckon he is a little bigger through middle
From games I saw definitely took step forward last season, and revealed a cool head and composed kicking, real nice kick of the ball
Big year for him

Measuring that photo on my screen he's only about five inches tall. I don't understand how you can otherwise tell his size given that there's no-one else in shot for comparison.SuperDuper wrote:Jackson Ferguson is looking pretty well huge

That's almost certainly what the club website stats will say. Why won't they ever update them properly?plugger66 wrote:I reckon he looks the same weight and height as last year.

How far do you think he's away from getting a game? 18 months?plugger66 wrote:SainterK wrote:I reckon he's grown.
Well he has but not for 2 years.

I hope not. I would think he could get a few games this year if we have a LTI or two.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
The club has him listed as 194cm and 89 kg. I don't know when that was last updated. I have to agree with Bergholt. If there is no one to compare him to, then it's impossible to tell. Anyone care to make an assessment based on seeing him at training?
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

I reckon he would be 195cm and 91k. I know he got to 94k early last year but decided to lose weight because he lost a bit of run.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
If that's accurate, then he's the perfect size for what we need. The question now is, is he good enough? With Markworth gone for the year, the opportunity for upgrading is there. P66, I know you thought he was a bit of a way off being senior AFL standard last year. Has anything you've seen since changed your mind?plugger66 wrote:White Winmar wrote:The club has him listed as 194cm and 89 kg. I don't know when that was last updated. I have to agree with Bergholt. I am actually a huge rap for Ferg. I just think he was still a bit off because of the position he would play and whether his body as ready. I certainly know nothing to change my mind except he is a year older and a year stronger. I certainly think he is ready for a few games this year if he is able to being a rookie.
