Re: Players drinking?
I'd imagine each club would have differant rules- some, non, what's your age,
at home, in private- etc.day of but not day before
But some areas would be no go
not being visibly intoxicated in Public- Not driving when under the influence, not being out and still drinking alcahol after a certain time,

Re: Players drinking?
My rule as stated in another thread is. Don't start before 12pm. Any starting time after that is ok.
Also. Only drink on days ending in the letter "Y"

Think your onto it mate,Cairnsman wrote:I'm pretty certain it's only illegal or against club rules if you get caught.
Hear a lot of stories that don't make it to the media,
Of course the saints players never seem to get that luxury.

Re: Players drinking?
As long as it's in moderation and not in the few days before a game, clubs generally don't mind. I used to work at a hotel where a few interstate teams stayed and they'd often head down to the bar after their recovery sessions and have a few.
Re: Players drinking?
Players from the saints anyway are not supposed to drink on 6day breaks. On a 7 day break they can have a drink after the game. It has certainly changed over the last 15 years. Some would go to the Edgy on a Wednesday even if they didnt drink. if they went to place like that now on a Wednesday I reckon the would miss a week. As for at the moment I reckon it wouldnt matter how much the drink as long as the can train and dont stuff up in public. Not sure about the smoking. Dont think the club would like that at all.

You can take the boy out of Caroline Springs, but you can't take Caroline Springs out of the boy. Probably just as well they got picked up, it's a long drive from Sorrento to the outer north-west when trashed.Con Gorozidis wrote:hahaha. pretty funny how people who go to portsea polo think they are being posh.saintbrat wrote:not this one?

Standby for the article about their shocking culture. No wait, it's Hawthorn, not St.Kilda.

I mean what a flog changing your surname. Blokes don't do that sort of thing unless they're gay maybe and get married which is fair enough.

I saw Lake riding his bike along the yarra and he looked like he was fit and ready to roll. I feel sorry for the guy he isn't the smartest bloke by all accounts. I think he is suffering from being a law unto himself at the dogs and is slipping back into bad habits already. I have heard there is more to the story so it would be a huge development if he's sacked before playing a game.
Besides Morabito going onto his 3rd knee reco is about the only big story so far this off season.

He doesn't strike me as a "polo" sort of guy. Maybe the hooray Henries from upper middle class Hawthorn were a bit too much of a shock for him. Then again, they probably just bored him into getting smashed.saintspremiers wrote:Maybe he'll become Brian Harris again to confuse them!White Winmar wrote:Standby for the article about their shocking culture. Like when he pushed Rooey over in the Prelim and he took a dive. Doggy supporters blamed Rooey but I never heard one say that Lake was an idiot for doing right in in front of the umpire after he was warned not to.gringo wrote:I saw Lake riding his bike along the yarra and he looked like he was fit and ready to roll. Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Really? I hadn't heard that. Poor bastard, looks like he can play but if his body never comes together then he's wasted five of his best years.gringo wrote:Besides Morabito going onto his 3rd knee reco is about the only big story so far this off season.

You have no idea. He changed it to his Mums name because he never saw his dad and his Mum brought him up.
