Brodie Murdoch
Hasnt had much talk about him - but this guy is built like a sherman tank and may be ready for senior footy sooner than the other 4 guys from this years draft.
Him and Seb Ross are fair sized midfield units.

Re: Brodie Murdoch
I know the Saints didn't think he'd last until that pick in the draft.......
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Brodie Murdoch
yes, born in Jan so will play 2013 as a 19 year old.... played one senior game last year in SANFL.. the previous year he kicked 31 goals in 5 games at the colts level... agreed is the most developed of the recruits and is very solid..
Essentially is what we got for Cripps ..... I hope it is an upgrade!

Re: Brodie Murdoch
Well, we may have a nickname for him. "Howling Mad" as in H.M. Murdock from the 'A' Team. Or maybe Rupert. Any other suggestions?
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
Re: Brodie Murdoch
This was his draft photo.
Hey, it was better than Cripp's got.

Re: Brodie Murdoch
His older brother at the Cats is taller but thinner and has a 2.76 for his 20m sprint... That is very quick!
Their old man was also some kind of a player.

We could be on to something here. The dude is built and ready to go.

Re: Brodie Murdoch
Youre speaking the obvious pluggs
I guess what im saying is - for 90% of draftees taken in the ND - they are often under-weight so realistically they arent going to be physically ready for afl for 2 years. Obviously being able to play is the most important thing but for this guy it will be about his ability to play straight away whereas for most guys the first few years is just getting an afl body - regardless of talent.

Probably right. Just like Seb Ross last year.

Re: Brodie Murdoch
Hes even more solid than Seb and Seb did manage one game in his first year...
Talk about a party pooper!
If I was at a party and was about to 'engage' a nice female, pluggs would step in and start talking about the complications of gonorrhea.
Murdoch is the new Sammy Hammil!

Many and unlike many here I dont bag them. maybe you should have a go at the people who constantly bag players instead of me who hasnt said anything negative about them. How the hell would I know a thing about this guy. I didnt bag him I just said it will depend what he does in games more than his build. Con does have strange reasons for thinking a guy will be good.

I thought it's because Con gets pumped and is plain excited. Isn't that a reason?plugger66 wrote:st_Trav_ofWA wrote:just a question Plugger66 out of curiosity is there any player on the saints list that has you somewhat excited about ?

I've had plenty of "mates" try and pull that sort of crap on me over the years.

Yes that he why he posts I would think. I was more talking about some of the strange reasons a player will or will not make it. This one isnt so strange but there has been a few. I still stand by my comment that I dont bag players. And to answer Travs question the players i have excited about who are youngish are Steven, Ferg, Siposs, Newnes, Ben and Saad.

Re: Brodie Murdoch
I would think that it is a huge leap from playing one game in the SANFL to playing in the AFL.
Regardless of his build the standard of football is so much higher and the pressure is intense.
I very rarely expect much from 1st year draftees. A solid season for Sandringham and showing a bit would be fine.
