At the Time I was born

Post: # 1291456Post saintbrat »

another non sensical thread- But it's holidays and better than watching Cowan and Hughes muck up good cricket day

On ( or near) the time I was born the saints had a big win
St Kilda 2.1 9.7 12.11 16.15 111
Geelong1.4 1.5 4.7 5.8 38 Win
Junction Oval Crowd 13,200 ( would that have been a big crowd at the time?) we lost the season- 7 wins11 losses

Were the Saints in a winning frame the day/ month/ Year you arrived on this earth...?

The day after I was born - June 23rd 1962 - the Saints lost to Melbourne by 12 Pts at the G.

The actual day of my birthday, the Beatles played at the Cavern club

Junction Oval? surly not bratty. you're not a day over 21.

I was born on the same day as Milney.

Less than a week after I was born we won our only flag, so they were in the winningest form in the club's history...........

They played there nearly 300 times from '61 to '63 so it was probably about their 137th appearance.

For me we beat Footscray by nine points at Western Oval in front of 13,500 people and Patti Page had the top song Tennessee Waltz. Unfortunately she died on New Years Day.

Wasn't anyone born in the summertime like me. All players were probably running a muck when I was born.

Maybe I should work back to the date I was conceived. Mum and dad are both Saints, so maybe we had a big win then.

I wasn't born end of June, start August 1967. Does anyone fit in this category? A real premiership celebration.

The year I was born we finished bottom of the ladder with 2 wins. Now that is depressing.

Lost by 3 points to Carlscum at the Junction, on my birthday, 1962. 38,000 in attendance. At the game, not my birth.

2 days after I was born, approx 10,000 people went to Arden St Oval Nth Melbourne celebrate the event and watched the Shinboners defeat the Saints :(

That same year, my idol in years to come - Peter Bennett - made his debut for the Saintss as a 17 year old :P

One criticism that can never be levelled at the Saints is.............. lack of consistency!
