The All-Time St Kilda Left Footers XXV
Because I am (a very ordinary) one, and I'm bored, and in view of the Pelican's famous penchant for them, I thought I'd try to put one together.
It's harder than it looks - particularly in KP players.
Rule is that they need not have played a Senior game, but must remain on the list to be eligible if that is the case; i.e Jimmy Webster is good to go, but Sam Crocker is not.
The list at this stage:
Tim Allen
David Armitage
Jayden Attard
Darren Bourke
Heath Black
Tony Brown
Nick dal Santo
Zac Dawson
Peter Everitt
Aaron Fiora
Fraser Gehrig
Sam Gilbert
Brent Guerra
Jimmy Gwilt
Nick Heyne
Tom Hickey
Rex Hunt
Clint Jones
Rod Keogh
Brett Moyle
Brodie Murdoch
Seb Ross
Adam Schneider
Alistair Smith
Ian Stewart
Stephen Theodore
Jason Triadnides
Jimmy Webster
Spencer White
George Young
The current (edited) team:
FB: Gwilt Dawson Attard
HB: Guerra Hunt Gilbert
CR: dal Santo Stewart Black
RK: Everitt Armitage Brown
HF: Theodore Allen Keogh
FF: Young Gehrig Schneider
Int: White Powell Murdoch Bourke
Em: Ross Hickey Jones
Suggestions/abuse/derision/additions welcome. Have at it.

I always thought Perovic was a right footer.
Jason Trianidis
John Bennett
Mark Scott?
FF should be George Young

Re: The All-Time St Kilda Left Footers XXV
Perovic definitely left-footed as I understand it.
I'm pretty sure Tria was a right footer who kicked often on his left ala Aussie Jones, Sam Mitchell or Heath Scotland.
The other two I haven't heard of, but Young I understand was a champion, however Fraser IS a two-time Coleman Medallist and century goal kicker...

Darren.
Re: The All-Time St Kilda Left Footers XXV
Traianidis was a leftie who did his knee, so he ended up getting his right as efficient as his preferred foot. Impressive! Some people spend their whole careers unable to kick on just one side.

Sorry plugger66, was Darren, I knew it started with 'D'. Wore number 21 from memory. Also from around the same era was Tim Allen who went onto Hawthorn I believe. Handy player for a short period.
and that's the bottom line

Yep, Perovic, although handy on the left, was definitely a right footer.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Everything I've read says Perovic was a leftie - suggests he was the genesis of Carlscum fans' fascination with yelling 'woof' every time a nominated leftie kicked the pill, like Christou.
But then again, I have zero direct knowledge.
Any other nominations for a replacement CHB then?

Wikipedia says he was a long left foot kick. They do have many mistakes though. If i had to guess I would have said left foot but I alo would not have recruited Tony Lockett, Lenny Hayes and Greg Packham.

Carlton's own website has him as a leftie.plugger66 wrote:Uncle Barrels wrote:Everything I've read says Perovic was a leftie - suggests he was the genesis of Carlscum fans' fascination with yelling 'woof' every time a nominated leftie kicked the pill, like Christou.

Re: The All-Time St Kilda Left Footers XXV
Aussie Jones was better on his left than his namesake Clint, does that qualify? In fact Aussie was a better left foot kick than a lot on the list. Also FWIW from my memory Perovic was a booming right foot kick.

I'm taking a stand: Perovic is IN til I can be disproved.

I was wrong and so were others saying he was a left footer. 100% right footer. He is out. Luckily we got Locket, Hayes and Packham.
