Hi GT,
would be very interested in your professional opinion on the integrity of Patrick Smith as a football journalist

You already know the answer to that or is that a trick question?Enrico_Misso wrote:Hi GT,

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

True I have a very clear opinion on Fatprick but I am interested in what Thommo has to say.magnifisaint wrote:You already know the answer to that or is that a trick question?Enrico_Misso wrote:Hi GT,

Fatprick used to refer to him as minivan (half a coach) and generally devote a lot of columns to take cheap swipes at GT.
To me Fatprick displays no integrity and limited insights.
But I am interested to know why Fatprick hated GT so much?
Did something happen behind closed doors?
Did GT tell him what a useless babbling fool he was?

White Winmar wrote:Not a fan of everything GT did by a long shot. What always galled me was that Malcolm Blight was portrayed as a victim of St.Kilda's appalling culture and was treated disgracefully. The reason I asked the question was that for the entire length of his tenure, I heard nothing but bizarre stories about his behaviour, including his lack of effort and application. These stories came from those who were working directly with/for him. Considering he was paid a million bucks up front and another million for six months of allegedly slacking, I reckon it was a bit rich that the media portrayed him as a legend who was harshly treated, while Butterss and GT were painted as the villains.8856brother wrote:Gold Jerry, gold. Absolutely amazing stuff. Who's got the biggest tongue.
Just to balance up the arse-licking quotient, 8856brother, GT and Butterss pulled one of the all-time howlers in appointing a man clearly past his use by, and who was, according to some close to him, not all that well in the above the neck area. Then again most of us were excited at the time he was appointed. Howler? Yes. The balls to make up for your mistake, despite the media flack that was sure to follow? Absolutely. i'd just like to learn the whole truth about what actually happened.
Blight was passed his use by date when St Kilda got him.
Blight tried to trash our name and culture when he was there. Who the hell did he think he was? We we're perfectly capable of doing this on our own.

My what? Have I insulted you?stinger wrote:have i ever reacted to or returned your insults in the past 6 months.??
Yep. Saying that someone has a small dick is an ad hominem attack which, as you correctly point out, is insulting someone rather than arguing with them. Although seeing as you apparently never insult people then I"m not sure how to interpret it. Certainly I don't see what relevance penis size could possibly have to a relevant discussion on this site, unless it's about Dal's leaked photo.stinger wrote:...anyway there IS a difference between arguing with someone and insulting them....

look stinger
this is not your thread so dont make out you are some almighty thread and post guru
ill post what i want when i want
i have not attacked you verbally so we should have no problem here
if i want to post an emoticon of someone eating chips and drinking a coke which basically says im sitting here watching you and berg have a discussion/stoush, i will
it does not effect the post and i have not insulted anyone unlike yourself
telling me to grow up is insulting and i dont like it
ive done nothing to you
its funny, because you are so quick to reply when i asked the question about zac being crook before the 09 grannie but two posts later you are throwing insults, whether its a small insult or a huge one is beside the point.
you go on about how you are treated harshly on here and abused and stalked
good lord who in their right mind would stalk you???
thats just rather outlandish imo
so heres a tip
get over yourself
dont go posting you are treated so harshly and that you dont insult others when every single person on here can see you do it, it makes you look like a bit silly
im expecting some insightful fantastic post in return or the usual classic of i shouldve ignored you ages ago and dont read your posts....something along those lines
have a great day
im off to take my misses (who cannot walk atm) to a physio to put her thru some agonizing pain.
give up berg
the effort is seriously not worth it

Fair point. I'd like to think that people realise when they're wrong and admit it, but I suppose that's tricky for some.matrix wrote:give up berg

So it's Watts, Waldron and the Board we have to thank! BTW, would you have argued to keep him and if so, why?StThomo wrote:I was summoned to a meeting where I was told the decision had been made and he was being sacked the following day. I could not believe as Director of Football I was not consulted but they said we knew you would talk us out of it. It was Jim Watts's initiative followed by Wal based on everyday activities and then the Board.White Winmar wrote:Hi Thommo, I have a question for you about " Blighty". One of your staff members regaled me with tales of Malcolm's bizarre behaviour during his brief tenure. If half of what I was told was true, it's a wonder you didn't sack him earlier. Was Malcolm's so called "dignified silence" after his demise due to his desire to avoid embarrassment if his behaviour was disclosed? I was told you even tried to save his bacon up to the very end. If true, it makes a lie of the scuttlebutt that you were the one who engineered his demise.
Come on Thommo, lift the lid. It's been more than a decade. If these stories are true, you should write a book about it. I wonder how Blighty might be perceived if these stories came to light. The St.Kilda FC, Rod Butterss and yourself might be largely vindicated, rather than condemned, for your actions all those years ago.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
