He wouldn't have gotten anywhere near 200 with any other club. Serviceable, maybe. Great Club Man, what does that mean, grateful to still be here? Should have been traded at the end of '08, before everyone realised he was a complete dud.WinnersOnly wrote:The guy has played nearly 200 games for the club - he has been a servicable player and a great club man. How did he manage to get regular games by all 4 coaches his played under?
In 08 if he had been traded, he'd have experienced life as a footballer not playing in a Riewoldt dominated forward line. Don't tell me you honestly believe anyone else would of got regular delivery over the last 4 years?
I kind of wish he'd left for his own self esteem, but he is one of the guys who (unlike Ball and BJ) don't worry about individual glory.

I doubt he'd have been any different elsewhere, he just doesn't seem to have the determination to perform at the top level. Seems to be happy to just let life roll along.
I doubt he'll enjoy playing for Sandy this year. He'll probably hope to reach 200 and pull the pin.

Dont bother Pav, the kid is as thick as two planks. Just because daddy is a surgeon and had the money to send sonny to a flash school he thinks he is special. Obviously got mummys compliant genes as Dools certainly is no brain surgeon
And his pathetic trolling efforts. Thinks he is so smart and clever "sucking them in". Well most longer term posters will remember how "sucked in" Dools was over some silver spooned, born to rule private school boys who formed a band and played before a Saints game a couple of years back.
He went nuts when pointed out their extreme privilege was a gift and they hadn't worked for it. Funniest thing was the young fool didn't know he was being trolled and kept going page after page while we all laughed at his stupidity.
So really Pav, the kid is the typical chocolate topping (thick and rich) you get from the privilege of having a smart and talented father. Just laugh at his stupid arrogance.

Re: Kosi The Enigma
Not all players make it.
Some do not even get one game.
Over his career Kosi has delivered good value, without apart from one golden stretch, being a star. He has certainly been been better than many though.
Kosi unfortunately suffers by not being quite a ruckman, or quite a key forward. Handy at both.
His biggest problem presently is that the game has changed a lot since he started. If you were drafting a young Kosi this year you would probably not use a very low pick on him for that reason.Mobility and pace are now more important than even and these both target his wealknesses, and these also mean that he can been eploited re lack of forward pressure. Ultimately it is these areas that may see other players supplant him.
Kosi to keep his spot must "clunk" his marks, and it is this aspect of his game that has declined. He is a deadly kick, but needs to hold more marks than he has done the last year or so.
That knock to his head seems to have been a turning point in his career, and he not seemed the same player since.
so in 2013 there is lot's of competition for his spot: Stanley, Wilkes, Siposs, Lee But they are going to have to play well to keep Kosi out. Kosi equally will have to rediscover his marking power to hold his spot. It is a god situation for the Saints to be in.
But just because Kosi is not as suited to toady's football, and that he skills seemed to have declined, does not mean that kosi has not hada useful career at the saints. For he has.

Re: Kosi The Enigma
Kosi isn't an enigma...Why make out that it's complicated to work out. The guy had a horrendous injury just as he was maturing into an absolute gun. Obviously 2013 is his last year and he's no-where near his absolute best, but I love the Kos - he's given his best for the club.
Anyway...not every player gets to be star week in week out. WinnersOnly summed it up....and check out the satistics. The thing that riles most of us is the lost opportunities to win a flag and I believe some like to just blame the players...Kosi is one of the favourite whipping boys among those that believed the former coach could do no wrong
the way i look at things is this ..
from that number two pick in the 2000 draft we got a player who so far has got 195 game 243 goals - has played in 4 prelim finals winning 2 of them to play in 3 grandfinals and has amassed 33 brownlow votes
to put that into perspective :
1998 number 2 (Justin Longmuir) -139 games - 166 goals - 1 prelim - 0 g/f's - 15 brownlow votes
1999 number 2 (Paul Hasleby) - 208 games - 131 goals - 0 prelims - 0 g/f's - 67 brownlow votes
2001 number 2 (Luke Ball) - 193 games - 83 goals - 5 Prelims - 3 g/f's - 36 brownlow votes
2002 number 2 (Daniel Wells) - 190 games - 116 goals - 1 prelim - 0 g/f - 48 brownlow votes
2003 number 2 (Andrew Walker) - 142 games - 109 goals- 0 prelims - 0 g/f's - 12 brownlow votes
2004 number 2 (Jarryd Roughead) - 159 games - 294 goals - 2 prelims- 2 g/f's - 17 brownlow votes
statistically Kosi has been around the mark with his peers of number 2 picks so in all honesty i dont look at it as a wasted skills more i see it as he has given his all for this club and has done a pretty damn fine job considering the hurdles he has faced ... when he does decide to hang up the boots i for one will be congratulating him on his career not lamenting it

Re: Kosi The Enigma
Only read the the first couple of posts in this thread and realised that the OP was being serious and also that other posters were taking the OP seriously.
A couple of things spring to mind:
1. surely people don't spend a serious amount of time in November/December contemplating football
2. surely people don't spend a serious amount of time contemplating Kosi's place in the team, wasn't that the quandry of the past decade?
I love how this world is full of wierd people.
