TAC Cup Players 2012
My left of centre recruiting method. No beep test, no vertical jump, no 3km time trial.
No this method relies solely on photographing games of football and then editing all those pictures.
I covered a fair bit of the TAC Cup this past season. Although concentrating on the job at hand and watching the games through the camera lens you get a good feel for who looks the goods.
Oliver Wines was the most impressive for mine and would be my number 1 pick.
After that in no particular order
Nick Vlastuin
Ryan Exon
Kristian Jaksch
Jason Pongracic
Tim Membrey
Billy Hartung
Lewis Taylor
James Tsitas
Kenny Ong
Christian Salem
Mason Wood
Tom Clurey
Nathan Hrovat
Some 'big names' missing from the list as well as some lesser known players.
Im not suggesting for one minute that this systems works well, its just a list of players that continually showed up in my view finder and on my laptop.
Saints would do well to get to Tom Clurey.

Re: TAC Cup Players 2012
I like Jaksche as he's a big boy who is a defender but could be played as a forward as well. Vlastuin is a pretty handy player and Ollie Wines should be a hard nugget mid with little doubt he'd play 150 games minimum. Wood, Clurey and Membrey are good gets if around and Hrovat I liked until I read lots of negatives on big footy and such so might have been biased against him.
Plugger said he had seen a bit of Kenny Ong but didn't talk him up and I didn't notice him too much, over all though some pretty handy kids in this draft and we should get some good players in for the future.

Did you see anything of Michael Barnes at the Dragons. I noticed you mentioned Kenny Ong. I reckon he goes ok too.

Is goes ok like we should draft him goes ok or he should go to another team ok? that's suspiciously like an opinion.

Well I have seen both of them play probably 10 times. I know stuff all about players from any other club than the Dragons so I aint going to have any opinion about them obviously.
I have no doubt we wont draft either of the 2 I mentioned because they arent the type we need but I also hope both get rookied and I think they are good enough to be rookied but next years rookie rule will probably count them out.

I thought kenny Ong was a little higher rated than that and will probably make his way onto some ones list just judging on where people have him going in the draft. I can't remember Barnes so can't comment.

Michael won the Sandy B&F this year. Very tough inside mid and small forward.

A list of players who continually showed up in your viewfinder and on your laptop...? Come on... Now why would a system like that work better than beep tests, cheap tests, clean hands tests, oral hygiene tests...? Surely Trunch your method is simply too 'cut to the chase' to possibly be of any value...?Trunch wrote:Oliver Wines was the most impressive for mine and would be my number 1 pick.

Oh..., hang on.
One question. Apart from Wino, as you said, you haven't ordered them. From a making a choice on draft day perspective, a club would need them in at least some level of reasonable order?
One more question Trunch. Why don't you post more?
I still reckon, when in any doubt, pick the St Kilda supporters...
