St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
True Sainters posted the 2013 jumper designs this afternoon:
Some minutiae that I'm sure not many here will give a rat's proverbial about:
- ISC have changed their template slightly; the collar isn't a solid bar all the way around, and there are shoulder panels too.
- The clash jumper's cross stripes are the same dimensions now - for some reason in 2012 the horizontal panel was wider and it looked a bit out of whack/apronish.
- The home jumper's white stripe looks thinner but the images like these for the past few years have looked like this. It's going to look darker anyway with the black over the shoulders.

Re: St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
the away jumper horizontal sash seems a little higher and is more proportional to the vertical panel and I think finally we have a great clash jumper

Just confirms the obvious. We have the best colours and jumper in the competition.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Agree; I think it's as close we'll get to having the traditional tri-panel as a clash jumper anytime soon.magnifisaint wrote:the away jumper horizontal sash seems a little higher and is more proportional to the vertical panel and I think finally we have a great clash jumper

Is it just me or the white panel on the home jumper looks a little narrow.

Re: St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
Is that a half collar?
And yeah, white stripe very narrow - like an eighties tie!

the away jumper is a major improvement; in fact it looks more 'St Kilda' than the home jumper now. The white stripe on Home jumper as others have mentioned is too narrow...

Agree
Terrific away jumper - FINALLY !!!!!!!
Home jumper needs 3 equal stripes - the white is too narrow

the vertical panel in the away jumrrper last year was too wide. They've got it right this time

Re: St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
Why do they have to mess with the design again?
Putting black on the shoulder like that is a significant change. I don't give a rat's tossbag if it looks better. It's a change to our jumper without any consultation.
Pick a design
eg.
and stick with it.

I don't like the way the white stripe is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom.

I bet Cowboy thought the white stripe was a little narrow when he first got this jumper. Given time (like, around 45 years), the design grows on you!kosifantutti wrote:Why do they have to mess with the design again?

Re: St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
Yeah, I have loathed the design our beloved jumper has had since 2009. Ok, loathed might be strong, but the white introduced in 2010, then the black bit last year - made me angry.
What the hell was wrong with the jumpers previous design? Look at any pic of 2009, especially the GF. The white trim with the black line in it looks awesome
The only winning thing about these new ones are luckily our colors remain the best in the league, despite the actual jumpers looking like some lame basketball/netball shirt.
Apologies for rant - have been meaning to do it for ages but the new design set me off

Our jumper is part of our heritage. Our jumper is the fabulous and unique tri-panel. Stop messing with stupid 'crosses', narrow centre white panels and now that pointless black shoulder panel. Arrrrghhhhhhhh!!!
There is no need for a clash jumper, but if we really must, simply change the back of the jumper to white...
And yes, the red, white and black vertical striped 'heritage jumper' is also acceptable for special occasions..., like, ummm..., heratige round.
For those who say the jumper doesn't matter, there's a new insidiuous and even more evil threat to consider if we start drifting from what is ours...
Craw makes a vaild point also. The images in this post show that we have to be very careful about who may end up wearing what must remain as our jumper...
It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?

Would Saad, a religious Muslim, have a issue with wearing a large crucifix on his jumper? Just wondering...
Re: St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
I don't mind this clash jumper too much. It's a big improvement over some of the things we've had in the last few years... like the white jumper with a logo that looked like it had faded in the wash.
This clash jumper reminds me a little bit of the hot cross bun jumper of the late 90s which I quite liked:

Re: St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
I really like utilising the cross. It's something that hasn't been done quite well, in my opinion, until the 2013 clash design. It's such a bold and unique image that I'm surprised it hasn't been properly explored since that hot-cross bun design (until the last two years which could be best described as "vague cross" designs).battye wrote:I don't mind this clash jumper too much. I think most would agree that the candy-stripe jumper remains better than any other clash we have produced (cross or not!).

I agree with you there. The candy stripe is one of my favourites.thequarry wrote:I really like utilising the cross.
