Will Gram get picked up? !!
Thinking out aloud;
Will Jason Gram get picked up in any of the upcoming drafts? Will clubs stay away, thinking that he is "Soiled Goods"? Will the AFL quietly warn clubs off him? !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
On football ability you would think so, would be on a reduced price but could conceivably earn a best 25 spot in most sides. I would imagine some clubs would be getting very well acquainted with the story from all involved to try and work out where his heads at! My first thought was Collingwood, they need variation in their back line and he has a few good mates there!
Maybe this year?

Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
The pies just took Young so I doubt they will take him, though they don't appear to have a salary cap so who knows…
Pretty sure the Blues were interested in Gram 12 months ago, but completely shat themselves when they saw what he was on. He could basically come for minimum wage now, so they could look at him, Malthouse seems to have no problems with naughty blokes either.
Rosco?

Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
He seems to have a better rep as a player to supporters of other clubs rather than his own I have noticed
Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
He'd be useful to a handful of teams. Don't know if they will take the punt though. Perhaps the Pies, he'd fit nicely into their culture. He's close with a few of the Filth players too.

They don't watch him as often as diehard Saints supporters do, those saints supporters have watched both his helicopters into the forward line and hisYaysaints wrote:He seems to have a better rep as a player to supporters of other clubs rather than his own I have noticed
attack on the man with the ball more often than casual saints watchers....that might affect his rep.....
Plenty tears being spilled on here still......
nearly enough to start a crocodile farm.....
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Can't kick
Can be soft at the contested footy
Struggles to stay fit
A lot of trouble off field.

Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
I would assume that whoever picks him up would have to take on his contract, and with salary cap pressures at most clubs, they would baulk at paying him that kind of money. Most clubs have some young players with 'issues', so why would they pick up a soft 29 year old with personal issues who plays a selfish brand of football. He's done nicely, has our Jason, having earned about 2 million bucks in the past 4 seasons for performances mostly on par with those of a first or second year players, while Sir Lenny has probably earned only marginally more for his herculean efforts and the respect that those effort bring to himself and the football club.
Personally, I don't care where Jason Gram ends up. He was made very clear of his coach's expectations of him before the commencement of the 2012 season and he couldn't delivery, so I respect the club's decision. Opportunity knocks now for Farren Ray, whose character and behaviour won't give his coach anything to worry about.

He is a known quantity and is a best 22 player however.andrewg wrote:Can't kick

Personally if we were the Magpies or the Hawks etc I would pick him up considering he will come on the cheap and the Saints will be paying his wage next season.
Considering the potential risk to reward and to get him at a pick 60/70 = a high rewards as a player that could play a few seasons in your 22.

Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
I'm not so sure that The SAINTS will be paying his wages next year. If they have followed the correct termination procedures and/or he broke behavioural clauses in his contract; HE GETS NOTHING !!The Redeemer wrote:He is a known quantity and is a best 22 player however.andrewg wrote:Can't kick

Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
Mark my words there will be a payout of some sort ... We won't get out of this without having to pay at least a % of his last year ...

Not according to some sites i've read...too costly or too old....at best he might end up at the Bulldogs or interstateEastern wrote:Thinking out aloud;

it all depends on his contract details.
And what does it matter anyway!
He was a tosser and an ordinary footballer who's been passed off
I'm glad Watters made a stand with him.

Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
Contracts are never simple.
There will be all sorts of grey areas and interpretations,
the AFLPA will be onto it big time as well as Gram's management,
to extract every last cent.
He will be paid out IMHO

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Will Gram get picked up? !!
At this moment he is no chance to be picked up. So I don't think anything will change soon, so he probably won't be picked up during the delisted free agent period. However, things could in the next month or too and he could potentially be picked up in the PSD, however I'd say it would be unlikely.
