Stevie J, notorious for it...always caught trying to do too much IMO
I saw R Harvey get caught quite a few times.

It better bloody well not.

Raph has survived 3 seasons too many and can bugger off.
+1 Could not put it more eloquently myself.
Raph can play - but needs to be forward of centre imo

Thank god. Anyway, according to papers he wants to leave us! 85 games and shone in 2... Lucky to have reached that many games. Bye.

I've never thought he was as bad as people make him out but I wouldn't be sad if we lost him.

Poor decision making and skills has always been my big knock against him.

Thanks Raph, courage you had heaps of it, always one of those guys pushing back to help create such a miserly defence in the 08-11 period.

Hope someone picks you up.

Agree SainterK.

And he was "low maintenance" off the field, which we can't say about all of his team mates.

Good luck Raph

Good luck in the future, thanks for giving your best to the club. We know you tried your guts out.

Hope another club gives you a new home.

Really sorry to see Raph go: I always thought he had a lot to offer and people were unduly critical of his tendency to be run down with ball in hand (which looks especially inept, but can be less damaging than kicking the ball straight to an opponent). I thought he brought a toughness and determination to move the ball forward into our backline which was good for us. With neither him nor BJ there, others are definitely going to have to step up to provide this missing forward momentum.

But, when these sorts of decisions are made in a considered way by club and coach, it's silly for fans like me to criticise them. I trust they know what they are doing. I wonder if Lyon, who clearly can Raph's upside, might be prepared to take him on at Freo for a season. He always played well at Subi.

He will be running in the 3rd at Moonee Valley on Friday night - with the blinkers on he wore for all of his 85 matches

Good luck to him in the future. Not the best player. Played a couple of good games, especially in the finals!

I Always appreciated Raph's courage and feel he did make v. significant contributions at times to our recent somewhat successful era that didn't quite deliver a premiership.
Anyway , i always loved it when Raph played his part and kept the 'Saints Footy' brand on the road.
Thankyou for your commitment Raph, you will always be welcome back at St. Kilda.
Take care Raph Clarke!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Agree.

I always hoped he would play forward. His errors in fence are much more noticeable. Felt he was better suited to being foward of centre.

very sorry to see him go

I rated the Rapher... thought he was much better than he was given credit for.

I enjoy his no nonsense, continuously doing the team thing approach much more than the flashy in and out styles of Schneider, Gilbert and a few other forum heros

I agree.

I had Gram's spot set aside for him in our starting 18 next season. but obviously the powers that be at the club see things differently.

I'm sad about this and I wish Raph all the best for the future.

Not many players can say they play there best in finals but Raph Clark can. 15 odd marks in a final v Collingwood how many players in the AFL have done that in a final.
