Re: List Lodgement One
I think so.
Gram & Clarke off of the primary list
Shenton & Andreoli off of the rookie list.

With the new rules, we have to cut our rookie list to 4 (+ Ferguson NSW scholarship)
Currently we have
1. Dunnell
2. Curren
3. Staley
4. Minchington
5. Andreoli
6. Shenton
NSW. Ferguson
We probably won't find out of any rookie promotions until lodgment 2 (Nov 15) but maybe today.
Assuming one of Curren & Dunnell is promoted (Ferguson won't change the outcome), we would have to delist one more at least.
If we want a rookie draft pick we have to take 3 off of the list through promotion or delisting.
I can see us promoting Dunnell, delisting Shenton & keep the other 4 on the rookie list meaning we won't have a rookie draft pick.
I think Ferguson won't be promoted yet, he will stay on as a NSW scholarship player to keep a spot open on the primary list.

Re: List Lodgement One
I think Clarke might be retained now, with the Gram situation.
Our primary list, and which picks we would actually use, would have been pre-planned before yesterday.

Re: List Lodgement One
If one goes it will be from Staley, Andreoli or Shenton
Minch is talked about by Wattera as having an impact in 2014. Curren will get his chance being B&F Sandy winner.
Staley - pretty raw, great size, large leap and quick but did look out of sorts in the sandy seniors and will take time to come on. Reminded me of Keefe from Collingwood. Upside large but how long do we wait?
Andreoli - these spots opening up for Wazza especially with a quality left foot from defence. Missed a fair chuck of year with shoulder injury but did get in best at Sandy. Has had 2 years now.
Shenton - looked the most likely in first half of year but solid finish to the season, playing in defence. Strong body, has deficiencies but could progress with another pre season.
Not really sure which way they will go (if any)!
If Wazza is kept on list as a rookie, they face having to upgrade Curran, Jacko the Ferg & Wazza at end of next year. Can't see that happening. Wonder whether Curren will get an upgrade now given the Gram exit?

Re: List Lodgement One
I would say there is a chance of us looking at free agents & only going into the ND with our first 4 picks or passing on 77 & entering the PSD.Dr Spaceman wrote:St Kilda Football Club has today confirmed the following further changes to its playing list ahead of the list lodgement deadline on Wednesday.Legendary wrote:http://www.saints.com.au/news/newsartic ... fault.aspx

Re: List Lodgement One
So as it stands we've got five spare spots on the primary list, and zero on the rookie list.
Picks would be 25, 26, 41, 44 and 77, but 77 is a very late pick which usually goes to recycled players. When kids are taken that late, they usually don't work out - Jesse White is the best of them in the last ten years by a fair way.
We might look at a recycled player with the last spot on the list, but there really don't seem to be many good ones out there. Gillies? Lonergan? Boumann? Petterd? Surjan? Nothing much there, and they seem to be the best of them.
I reckon we might save a spot on the main list and use it on a rookie or in the pre-season draft. The first round of the rookie draft has a better strike rate than 75+ in the national draft. Horsley, Pfieffer, Maric, Spurr last year. Giles, Nicholson, Pederson, Curnow, Dahlhaus the year before. Stanley, Barlow, Thompson, Hitchcock, Moles the year before that.

Absolutely nothing to do with race. You are making that assumption. I don't understand why. All about being the new whipping boy now Raph has gone. Check the TDL thread.evertonfc wrote:Why would you say that?8856brother wrote:Look out TDLSobraz wrote:So Raph has officially been delisted?!...

Always dangerous to presume to know what a poster may be thinking. As such I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt.evertonfc wrote:Why would you say that?

I don't know 8856brother so I don't know if the comment had anything to do with TDL's skin colour. It may have.
But equally it could refer to TDL being a fringe player. A player who has so far been unable to display the consistency required to be a regular senior player. A player who's recruitment by the Saints caught everyone by surprise and had many querying the club's judgement.
TDL may be the next Dempster. I certainly hope so. But he may also be the next Polo, Gamble or Gardiner.
And if that's the case he's a fair chance to become our next whipping boy, regardless of his skin colour.
