Rds 7 & 8 v Collingwood & Adelaide. Venues unknown just yet, but if Adel is Away & Coll is Home the entire club should/will be happy with that sort of start to the season
Will be positively stoked if we are away to Adelaide for two reasons.
1) assuming we play six interstate (which is likely - less is a bonus and more is unfair IMO) that leaves just two interstate after round 8 so of our final 14 games 12 will be in Victoria (I'm still pretty sure we'll get sent down the hwy to feeling this year)
2) of our interstate we have gc, GWS, Adel, Syd (home) - in a perfect world i'd like to avoid playing Brisbane, port, west coast and Sydney interstate (happy to play Freo at Subi tho) so the fact we will likely play no more than two of them (unless we have more than six) is also something that pleases me.

Are we certain we are home to Essendon round 4? I was under the impression it was their home game.

Don't want to get all negative on everyone but, we could easily be 2 - 6 after these first 8 games… I expect Carlton, Essendon & Richmond to improve next year.

Not even the AFL would FIXture us as the away side im 3 of our first 4 games (incl 2 x Interstate) !!

I didn't think they would either. Just goes to show even the herald sun can't be trusted!! I guess even everything they've said we'll have to take with a grain of salt.

That's a great first five weeks from commercial and membership point of view. Attractive timeslots and two home games against big four sides, plus Anzac day and overseas exposure.

Haven't been on for a while but I can confirm the following:

1/ 11 games at Etihad ( 8 home games)
2/ 3 games at mcg ( 2 home games )
3/ 6 games interstate
4/ 1 game in New Zealand v Sydney (home game)
5/ Geelong away at Simmonds stadium as a night game Saturday July 27 th
6/ final game of season v Fremantle at Etihad
7/ don't play at Etihad till round 4
8/ we play the following twice: Gold Coast , Sydney , Richmond , Carlton , Fremantle
9/ We have the bye in Round 12
10/ only 2 teams we don't play interstate are West Coast and Port Adelaide
11/ 2 home games at the mcg are Richmond Round 2 & Melbourne Round 13

Overall I would say the fixture is ok , however 6 interstate trips plus trips to New Zealand & Geelong are a killer.

For the sixth time in seven years we travel to Gabba with no return match at Etihad. Sick of not playing Brisbane down here.

And if this is our fixture, then that's terrible. Seven interstate/overseas and geelong is not a "dream draw" however you stretch it.

you get access to a specific away game- I beleive it's at the G, only relevant if you only have Home game membership.

and the last time we played Brisbane down here we were on top of the ladder and they were on the bottom and we still only beat them by thirteen points
