Before we write him out of our history, just remember that one day the AFL will award him a retrospective Norm Smith medal.
They eventually did it for tied Browlow votes, they will one day do it for Norm Smith's.

Gees I hope he is being supported by some reliable family members or friends, with his whole life crashing down around his ears in the last month he is going to be in an extremely vulnerable emotional state!

he obviously was under stress to not see the errors. and this will compound...

St Kilda Football Club wishes to advise that it has terminated the playing contract of Jason Gram.
Following the breakdown of a personal relationship, Gram failed to honour repeated undertakings to the Club concerning his behaviour.
St Kilda Football Club has been working with Gram for a number of months on this issue in an attempt to ensure his behaviour appropriately reflected the values shared across the Club and to assist with the management of his personal welfare.
The Club recognises that Jason’s conduct has been of a non-violent nature.

Re: Rumour is Jason Gram has been sacked
Nonetheless, if its repeated breaches as reported then the club has no option but to sack him immediately.saintbrat wrote:agreeWinnersOnly wrote:Gees I hope he is being supported by some reliable family members or friends, with his whole life crashing down around his ears in the last month he is going to be in an extremely vulnerable emotional state!

Given he was a long time player with us, he deserves some post sacking support I guess.

Re: Rumour is Jason Gram has been sacked
It sounds like there is a bit of history to all this, and I am sure the club would assist players where possible, but maybe there is a line that gets crossed and that's where goodwill runs out?

It is sad, but at least we can replace him in the draft.saintbrat wrote:http://www.saints.com.au/news/newsartic ... fault.aspx

He tweeted a lot how he loved Miami. Maybe he could try his luck in the States doing something?

Feel for the guy...
Cops a lot of unfair sh1t from his supposed supporter base, and now a personal issue has led to his professional life fall apart...

Re: Rumour is Jason Gram has been sacked
I'm confident he'll have the continued support of the AFLPA, should he nominate for the draft, a move interstate may be just the thing he needs.
I'm not happy that this has happened, but I could see no alternative given he has used up his chances.
Just hope he has loved ones with him, to get him through this.

Re: Rumour is Jason Gram has been sacked
Don't want to discuss Grammy's issue.
But generally I'm glad the club is finally putting the club first. We've had too many years carrying too many players with behavioural issues. I don't care who you are or how good you are, you mess up repeatedly and you're out!
Finally a board and coach that won't take any rubbish. Hopefully we can start getting some respect and strength of character that will turn into success.
We all know that it hasn't worked the way we've been up to now.

Re: Rumour is Jason Gram has been sacked
As an official Player Sponsor of the Club we've just received this email:-
Good Evening Player Sponsors & Premium Player Sponsors
I hope this email finds you well. As a key member of the Club’s corporate family we thought it appropriate to advise you that we have terminated the contract of Jason Gram.
Unfortunately, Jason has repeatedly failed to honour undertakings he made to not contact his former partner following the breakdown of their relationship.
We have been working with Jason for a number of months and have got to a point where we felt that his ongoing behaviour was untenable.
The club is committed to ensuring that it continues to establish a culture of high performance and professionalism and this decision reflects this commitment.
I have attached a press release that will be distributed later this evening for your reference. Whilst we are conscious there will be many questions surrounding this, as it is currently a matter before the courts please understand our ability to comment further will be limited.
We thank you for your ongoing support and will look to meet with you all over the coming weeks as we embark on our 2013 campaign.

hopefully there is no payout.
It's a pity due to the counseling procedures we weren't in the position to delist him earlier, as he could've been picked up as a Free Agent and we would've landed a draft pick. Although if it was in the 60's it wouldn't have been much benefit I guess...

Re: Rumour is Jason Gram has been sacked
strictly from an on-field sense I'm not too bothered
in terms of rebuilding he's exactly the type of player that needed to be moved on
may well have saved Raph Clarke too
