We are loving those Sandgropers. TDL was coached by Watters at Subiaco as a 17 year old. He certainly knows how to kick a goal. He bagged 70 in his first year of WAFL in 2009 before he was drafted. Watters clearly knows him and rates him.
This sounds familiar didn't our new boy Lee just kick 60 or 70 .

I don't see how this is a bad thing if we get him for a late pick.
Held out of the premireship side.
Quick, kicks goals, isn't that St.Kilda always needs?

Re: Trent Dennis - Lane
Agree , he is a mate of my nephew so have watched him closely , he has plenty to offer, Milne and snides won't be there for ever , he is a slippery goal kicker no doubt good addition.
Re: Trent Dennis - Lane
TDL is a very versatile player. Quite quick but plays tall and knows where the goals are. I think he'll be a good pickup if we can get him with a late pick we aren't going to use anyway.

One more for the mosquito fleet of Milne, Milera, Saad, Schneider. Quick players who know where the goals are

Re: Trent Dennis - Lane
I reckon Watters will want to push both Milera and Schneider to playing permanent midfield.
And don't forget Milney only has probably 1 year or maybe 2 left.
So really apart from Saad, we could do with another bloke like that.

My only memory of this bloke is as a Sydney emergency.
So worth pick 80ish.

But that means delisting a player who you might use or is young. A mate of mine follows the Swans as does his whole family. They dont rate this guy.

This is a football club with limited spots available on the list. It's not like going into a $2 Shop and picking up something you think might come in handy one day just because it's cheap
Re: Trent Dennis - Lane
So the thinking could be TDL as a direct replacement for Raph Clarke for instance. I don't know the state of list numbers but its pretty obvious that if they think he is more valuable than a current player then he deserves a spot over them.Dr Spaceman wrote:Exactly.plugger66 wrote:Old Mate wrote:TDL is a very versatile player. It would be nice to pick up a few unried players though. We may get a Fisher or a joey or a Dal. We may also get a Sweeney but we know what we are getting with TDL and all it is is depth.

Re: Trent Dennis - Lane
Don't have a problem with them picking up anyone FQF if they have a plan for them. And only the club would know that (plus who else may not be at the club in a month's time).FQF wrote:So the thinking could be TDL as a direct replacement for Raph Clarke for instance. It's more posters jumping at every name that's raised and saying "he'd be okay for a late pick" or "if chucked in" with a trade.

Fits the age bracket we're trying to fill. I think he deserves a spot if there is room on our list. Isn't in our best 22 IMO but there's always injuries and will definitely provide the valuable pressure for spots.

You'll be waiting longer than 4 years to get Sainter K to be critical of the club...SainterK wrote:Well no.dragit wrote:

Well whats the point if you really think that. Surely we dont care about Sandringham.
Re: Trent Dennis - Lane
Bit confused about this one...is he even that good? We seem to have an abundance of players in the same mould...
Re: Trent Dennis - Lane
well it is official.... we are sorted for small forwards....
perhaps we will become a small forward factory where milney and shnides train them up, and we trade them out for other players....

We are going to play 13 forwards this year. We have recruited 3 more and we already had a couple spare.
