Thats a brilliant trade Jed will be a great player... expected to go in the 20-40 range - much better than any pick Gilham could have gotten.

Considering we could have probably got Martin & a pick for Ray, or got Martin for pick 47, then simply have sent Cripps to WCE for pick 41.

Plan A may be to get Brown.

Plan B may be to target someone who is not currently an AFL listed player and therefore not part of this Trade Period.

We shouldn't just go after any biggish bloke who may be able to do some sort of job for us down back.

Does anyone know where one can find a list of the players GWS pre-listed? All these Lee, Barry, Anderson, etc names only seem to bob up once the actual trade occurs...

Martin - we don't need another ruck, we just got one in Hickey... and Martin can't play KPD
Gilham - undersized, plays as a third Tall/half back flanker... we already have a few of those

I'd like us to snare Brown and would give up Cripps, #26 and #47 for him.... but even if we don't get him then we'll be in the box seat to get him next year and go to the draft with 2 young Tall prospects already on our roster and 4 picks under 50 to have a crack at some new midfielders.

Yep. I don't think it will be such a disaster if we don't get him. The only concern I have is if Glass retires at the end of 2013 and Brown has a guaranteed spot, WC can offer a competitive new contract and him simply walking to us in the draft won't be such a given.

This I think looks ok. Fair for all concerned.

What would be even better is if we could deal with each club directly.
