Are you serious?
We're playing out at Casey Fields?
Etihad Stadium gatetakings only to Essendon and alike?

Couldn't fault the grounds down there...but it's nearly as far as Seaford!
*Allegedly.

Nearly as far from what? God im tired of numbskull conservatives like you that add piss weak negativity at any chance and complain about a 40 minute drive from the Bourke Street mall. Seaford is at the beach, closer to the Melbourne CBD, the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston CBD and the freeways. Move to a club that is investing in Casey or Tullamarine if u prefer.satchmo wrote:Couldn't fault the grounds down there...but it's nearly as far as Seaford!
Unless you live in Reservior or Morwell get over the move to Frankston - it's the new bayside capital and is not far from anywhere. On a progressive note lets hope we can play a NAB game at Frankston Park or Trevor Barker Oval soon!

It will be about the fastest I'll ever get to a game of football. I live about 10 minutes away!

Better than going to Wangaratta and the other team doesn't turn up because they are too good to take a bus!
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

F***!!!!!!!!!! Both Seaford and Cranbourne are a million miles away.
Would be scared of getting murdered in either suburb if I stepped out of my Hummer.
Do they have electricity and plumbing at the ground?

I've been to the ground once. Beautiful playing surface and nice little grandstand.bobmurray wrote:I'll go to Casey...

Does anyone know the spectator capacity?
I'd imagine only about 7,000 max.

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

So the record crowd is 10K in 2007 for Hawks vs Ess challenge match.
The only other AFL game was Dees vs Dogs nab game in 2009 which drew a massive 2K crowd!
I reckon it won't be a lockout.

Finally I will be able to get home from a game within 5 mins of the final siren! Honestly, do people whinge just for the sake of it? How inconsiderate of the AFL to not play every game at Etihad where clearly all St Kilda supporters reside within a 5 minute commute.

Cranny is a million times better than Wang or Alice Springs or Coffs Harbour or some other weirdo location well out of reach for Melbourne based fans.snoopygirl wrote:Finally I will be able to get home from a game within 5 mins of the final siren! I guess we get Cranny as compensation for the Round 1 game being in Adelaide.

Re: Dees vs Saints Casey Fields NAB Cup 9 March
If people wanna bang on about Seaford then I can't stop them.
But people who do so need to think about what it means to support a club. They need to think about what continuing carping of decisions like this actually achieve.
There's many things that clubs do that we don't like. It might be a jumper design or a scarf. That's fine; those things can be easily changed and probably will be if there's enough feedback.
But go down to the place and have a look at the investment the club has put in. Are we just gonna walk away from that and start again? If for one minute you think the answer is yes, then proceed straight to check in.
We were at Moorabbin for more than 50 years. We'll probably be at Seaford for just as long.
Get over it.

I hope we move from Seaford within 5 years and redevelop Moorabbin.
It's not about the supporters it's about the players.
The players don't want to live close to Seaford, they want to be more inner city, and it may impact getting good players to our club. Won't impact so much the 17 and 18 yr old drafted players but it will re FA and trading IMO.

Re: Dees vs Saints Casey Fields NAB Cup 9 March
If the players aren't prepared to drive a little further to work then I doubt they're prepared to make the other commitments neccessary to win a premiership.
May as well sack them all and start again.
With Geelong you have the choice to relocate or travel from Melbourne. They seem to have blokes prepared to do one or the other. And guess what? They've won 3 flags in recent times.
But hey let's just throw millions of dollars away that we don't have so our blokes find it easier to get to trendy bars and cafes.

Is that due to Costa and how well the club is administered?
