Re: Rumour Thread
You would have to be concerned at the prospect of Bennell - a 22 YO back flanker, melbourne are willing to throw in with a pick for a 26 YO back flanker…Calais wrote:The Age is reporting that Melbourne has offered St. kilda pick 49 & Jamie Bennell for Farren Ray.
He's from WA, so every chance I suppose.

Re: Rumour Thread
No trade, don't want Bennell. Melb can give up 49 + Rohan Bail. Otherwise DP in 30's for Ray.
Or straight swap Ray - Martin. (that's if Ray really wants out) That would also mean GC can p!ss of for playing hardball on Hickey.
Why a three-way trade to get Jacobs - If Saints want to give up DP 25 for Jacobs, they can deal directly with Port, or even offer Port 37

In theory fine, but if we don't get Hickey its not like GC are going to push him out the door.MCG-Unit wrote:Or straight swap Ray - Martin. (that's if Ray really wants out) That would also mean GC can p!ss of for playing hardball on Hickey.

Port may not want our pick 37, and we may not want to give up pick 25. Which is why a third club might get involved, or we use Cripps and Broughton in a 3 way trade. Remember North might give up 38 & a player.

Re: Rumour Thread
How keen are we on Jacobs? How keen are Port on Broughton? Cripps wants to return to WA. Sounds like a straight forward deal between the three clubs.

Who really knows who we are genuinely keen on, we have been linked to Caddy, Stevens, Brown, Jacobs, Broughton, Hickey, Warnock, Martin, etc but who really knows?Old Mate wrote:How keen are we on Jacobs? I'd be happier with Jacobs purely because we can get 6 more years out of him and he is yet to show what he can do when surrounded by quality - think Joey, Lenny & Dal lifting him to greater heights... also there are plenty of 20 year olds who haven't even played yet. Having said that, if he isn't available I'd definitely take Broughts for Cripps over losing him for nothing in the draft.

Here's a thought, let's not trade. Keep our picks and go into the draft. Best player at 13, best defender at 25.

Entirely disagree sorry.fugazi wrote:yep, I agree...tell Brown to walk into PSD next year blake for full back in 2013.SaintWodonga wrote:Here's a thought, let's not trade. Keep our picks and go into the draft. Best player at 13, best defender at 25.
Pinning all our hopes on Brown would be risky, he is just as likely to get games this year, fall back in love with his club and stay.

Guess we need someone to replace Brett Peake almost note for note.Dr Spaceman wrote:Greg Broughton

I agree, sort of!
If Cripps wants to leave, trade him to Freo for Broughton. (F**k the Eagles)
If Ray wants to leave, trade him to Melbourne for Martin.
Broughton can rotate through the middle & play acrooss HB, Martin can back up McEvoy & also play a little down back.
That leaves us with all our picks & as you said, pick the best player available at 13 & a KPD at 25. Maybe pick up Kyle Hartigan with a later pick.

How the hell did you put those little ticks in your post? I've been sitting here looking at my laptop keyboard for the last 5 minutes and still can't find them. Have you got one of those iPad thingies?Dr Spaceman wrote:Greg Broughton

Re: Rumour Thread
Yeah, probably David Hille, Brendan Fevola and Jamie Shanahan out of retirement for the bargain price of our first four draft picks.Ralphy wrote:yes i think so.SaintWodonga wrote:So does anyone think we will off a surprise trade before 2PM Friday? (one that is not on the radar)

Re: Rumour Thread
Now you've done it! The club was trying to keep it a secret but now you've exposed the deal it'll probably just push the price up. Probably gonna have to chuck Siposs in as well.bergholt wrote:Yeah, probably David Hille, Brendan Fevola and Jamie Shanahan out of retirement for the bargain price of our first four draft picks.Ralphy wrote:yes i think so.SaintWodonga wrote:So does anyone think we will off a surprise trade before 2PM Friday? On the Herald's trade chat people are talking about Saints trading Kosi to the Blues for Warnock.
