Hang on a minute why are you people offering up draft picks.
The guy's agent is our good friend Paul Connonrs.
You remember him, Luke Ball's agent.
He owes us a freebie.
We should be able to get this done deal in the same manner that Collingwood screwed us over Luke Ball.

One doubt, he was captain of Brighton Grammar's footy team.
Remember Jack Watts was also captain of Brighton Grammar's footy team.

Not that it means a whole lot, but Damian Barrett said on Trade Week Radio that North are after Jacobs, and are hopeful that he will nominate them as his club of choice. Are we actually potentially interested in this kid? Or is it just general hopefulness?

Is it just me or did free agency wash over the whole comp and we just offer over players to the team they nominate? Ball f***ed the whole comp now. he not only bullied the AFL into this half arsed free agency while at the AFLPA now 2nd year players need to be traded to the club they nominate. Caddy should have been screwed to the wall by GC. they have set themselves up for getting their faces wiped in the mud by any slightly discontented little princess that wants his mum. Caddy should be made sit out for draft tampering. So should Jacobs. If they can't even control player movement anyway why have the stupid free agency. So a couple of teams get double shafted with no compo when their player nominates.

Story in The Age today has North giving up pick 38 or 39 for Jacobs. Sounds like Port are being screwed because this kid 'nominated' North as his preferred destination. As you note, Conners handy work yet again...gringo wrote:SaintTom wrote:Not that it means a whole lot, but Damian Barrett said on Trade Week Radio that North are after Jacobs, and are hopeful that he will nominate them as his club of choice. If it was just pick 39, we should go in hard with our second rounder. As long as we didnt lose Milera for TDL I would be happy for us to do that.

Re: Saints Should Target Ben Jacobs from Port Before Caddy?
North Melbourne is the front runner for Ben Jacobs but they only a have mediocre small forward and picks to trade to Port.
North's picks presently stand at 15, 38, 39, 58, 78 etc.
They would be unlikely to part with pick 15 as part of a deal but Port are unlikely to accept pick 38 and a list clogging fringe player for Jacobs.
St Kilda on the other hand has picks 25, 26, 47, 48, 77 etc.
Jacobs' family lives in Beaumaris, he went to Brighton Grammar and played for the Sandringham Dragons.
The family are known to be very sad that he is playing in South Australia in a team that constantly loses, Ben wants out.
He was taken by Port with pick 16 in the compromised 2010 draft equivalent to about pick 21 in a normal year.
He certainly would progress better at St Kilda than he has at Port.
How wuold people feel if we paid pick 25 or 26 and nabbed Jacobs out from under North's nose.
