The whingers wouldn't be happy unless we had kept bj, signed Wellingham, Caddy, Stevens, Dawes, and Tippett, and kept #12 as well.
Apparently it has been a "disaster"
Lance or James??

Re: Hickey
i reckon its been fairly good so far we havent really lost much .... Lee will be alright i reckon
Hickey is good have seen him a few times plus we have 13 and if cripps has moved to WA that means a trade could have been done.

Re: Hickey
WCE picks are: 38, 57, 75, 93, 111, 129, so to trade pick 38 for Cripps will be a loss to the Saintss going wet toast....

Re: Hickey
I hope we do get Hickey, I think he will become a good player particularly with the new ruck rules.
However, I am not so convinced we will get pick 13 for Goddard.
Some of the rumours, I acknowledge they are just rumours, suggest it may only be band 2 or even 3 compensation.

Re: Hickey
If that's the case it would be virtually like trading Cripps for HIckey (we lose 34 and gain 38).SaintWodonga wrote:WCE picks are: 38, 57, 75, 93, 111, 129, so to trade pick 38 for Cripps will be a loss to the Saintss going wet toast....
The other option is a 3 way with Dogs. Stevens to Dogs, 21 to us, Cripps to WCE.
Wouldn't surprise me if that happens given that it looks like we are giving away 34 for HIckey.
Would be happy with that if we lose BJ , Cripps, gain Lee and Hickey, and end up with 13, 21, 24, 43.

Re: Hickey
No chance at all. Goddard is pretty much the prime example of band 1. If Goddard does not attract that sort of compensation then virtually no-one is capable of reaching that level.

My thoughts exactly.True Believer wrote:The other option is a 3 way with Dogs. Stevens to Dogs, 21 to us, Cripps to WCE.SaintWodonga wrote:WCE picks are: 38, 57, 75, 93, 111, 129, so to trade pick 38 for Cripps will be a loss to the Saintss going wet toast....

Re: Hickey
Now it is pick 24 again not 34 if you look at current Big Footy. Makes a big difference. Don't think anyone has any idea really. I'll wait till it actually happens.

I really hope you are right we will just have to wait and see but I would not put it past the AFL to screw us over.Hemi Baxter wrote:...and those rumours will be dead wrongSinCitySainter wrote:I hope we do get Hickey, I think he will become a good player particularly with the new ruck rules.

Lets be honest I wouldn't be the first time we have been bent over by the AFL and told to enjoy it.

He can take a mark but his ball drop and kicking action are very ordinary. New to the game blah blah open to improvement ...What you don't see in that clip is his biggest asset, he has a good leap.BelfastSaint wrote:This has probably been posted before but here are a few Hickey highlights ...

I'm going on the list of criteria they published. With his kicking action and being a left footer he reminds me of Justin Madden.Hemi Baxter wrote:He can take a mark but his ball drop and kicking action are very ordinary. Does not sound like the deal is done and dusted: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/departm ... 6499261763
Re: Hickey
no way is he worth a first round pick.... 24 is a very early second round pick, and is more than we should probably give

He was a QLD Zone Selection from memory.... phantom drafts had him going between 30 & 60.saintjake wrote:What number was Hickey originally drafted at?
Has shown a great deal more than that so if it takes pick 24 then that's ok.

I reckon he looks like a great prospect! I like his tap work and marking. A big unit like him going periodically up forward will stretch opposition defence.HitTheBoundary wrote:With his kicking action and being a left footer he reminds me of Justin Madden.Hemi Baxter wrote:He can take a mark but his ball drop and kicking action are very ordinary.
