Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
HOpefully that means we are either still a chance to do Brown for Cripps, or, even better, Cripps is staying.

This trade period has been a disaster. When players pick the dogs over us there are serious issues.

+1, this is depressing...jmac101 wrote:This trade period has been a disaster. When players pick the dogs over us there are serious issues.

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
It could be purely cash related. Dogs have a fair bit of space you'd imagine. And still need to get a deal done.

3 way trade?
Cripps to eagles, Stevens to dogs... Who from dogs?

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
Why? I think its been pretty good so far. Picked up Tom Lee and a couple of picks in return for #12. Seems like a pretty good trade there. We still expect to do a deal for Hickey, so accept for the Brown deal, we'll probably achieve exactly what we wanted...jmac101 wrote:This trade period has been a disaster. Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
Just had a glance at their list - not many there who excite me. Maybe Michael Talia, is he any good? 195cm, 88kg defender.Batnoe wrote:3 way trade?

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
Agree with Kimberly Saint. Do we want Stevens? I don't. We need to focus on getting a backup Ruckman and a key defender and not get distracted by other players that are available. Keep early draft picks for talented youngsters.

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
Cripps has already moved and living in WA according to SEN this morning. That may make it a tad hard for us to keep him.True Believer wrote:HOpefully that means we are either still a chance to do Brown for Cripps, or, even better, Cripps is staying.

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
The only thing closer to acceptable in that arrangement would be pick 21......DOgs next pick is 41. Seems unders to me.SaintWodonga wrote:Not who... What.. What pick?Batnoe wrote:3 way trade?

Maybe they swap their 41 for our 43 as well, or the Eagles pick 38 gets swapped for our 43.

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
I don't think we were too keen on him. I'd reckon the dogs made him a better offer of money or game time or both, and we seemed pretty adamant that we wanted the Cripps deal to be for Brown. Not fussed we missed out on this one.

21 for Cripps seems unders? What?True Believer wrote:The only thing closer to acceptable in that arrangement would be pick 21......DOgs next pick is 41. Seems unders to me.
Wellingham and Dawes are premiership players still approaching the prime of their careers, and they were worth 17 and 20 respectively. How can you possibly justify a price as high as 21 for Cripps, an unproven outside player who's still a reasonable chance of playing less than 50 games in his career?

We just don't know what's going on behind the scenes. The release of the Goddard compensation will get the ball rolling.jmac101 wrote:This trade period has been a disaster. When players pick the dogs over us there are serious issues.
There is a reason it has been quiet. Maybe we didn't want Stevens badly enough....

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
Still more than a week to go.
Dont panick.
Even if we only get Lee and Hickey, we will have #13, and you dont know what we will top up with in the later picks of the draft.
Plenty of players will be out of contract soon. Geelong have 5 ruckmen, David Hille hasn't signed etc.
Let it all pan out.
hasn't been a "disaster" at all.

Re: Stevens nominated Dogs
Having a midfielder looking for opportunities choose your team is a bad sign, not a good one. Stevens would be behind at least Hayes, Dal, Joey, Steven and Armo at this club. Probably a lot of others too. Hardly a disaster missing out on him.jmac101 wrote:This trade period has been a disaster. When players pick the dogs over us there are serious issues.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

But Monfries chose Port over us - "DISASTER"
